Before you enter a song using the link below there are some guidelines you need to follow. Please read through it carefully, and do ask if there is something that needs clarification.

🌌Guidelines🌌

🌌) Your entry may not have appeared in the main contest or any of the BJSC Spin-offs before. You can enter a song that has appeared in any other contests on the site (for example the Pop Forum Song Contest). Click here for a list of past entries of the main contest. Click here if you wish to see what was entered to the first Schalgerfest spin-off.

🌌) You cannot send anything that has appeared in Eurovision Song Contest.

🌌) Your entry may not have appeared in a National Final for the Eurovision Song Contest. The artist may be a NF reject, the song however cannot have be involved in the NF.

🌌) Your artist(s) have to be from either Denmark (including Faroe Islands), Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden.

🌌) Your entry has to be Scandipop. Not Scandidance. Not Scandindie. Scandipop. Meaning it has to fall somewhat within the realm of pop music.

🌌) No songs that have charted in the UK top 10 (songs that charted lower may still be vetoed if they are deemed to be too well-known, though the veto will be much less strict than in a standard contest)

🌌) The deadline for entering a song is: 11:59pm UK time | 21^st of August.

This is not a sound particularly associated with my nation, but in the first edition I managed to find one of my favourite songs I've ever sent to a spin-off (VIAN - 'Gå Der Vinden Blåser') so hopefully can unearth another gem.

I forgot it had been as long as Halloween since we last had a contest in the spin-off forum, good to have one running now!

I have been meaning to send this somewhere that fits for a while, and nowhere fits better than this theme. As an aside, I just reminded myself of the song I sent to the first edition eight years ago, and what a banger that was!

Just having a look at the confirmations so far... I'm going to give a certain person the opportunity to reconfirm of their own volition before I make the rare step of intervening to issue an official veto for a spinoff for the first time in a very long time xx

(the regular veto framework doesn't apply to spinoffs but there are limits!!)

Schlager lager lager lager lager....I assume the first edition was about the German/Austrian genre!

Please make sure that your artist(s) is from one of these countries! I can say now that there are at least two entries that does not feature Nordic singers/not based in a Nordic country.

Tbf I think there is usually a sentence explaining this in the OP of the spinoffs (actually I think we usually have a rule banning UK top 10 hits outright, otherwise we are a lot more lax with what is allowed than in the main contest as there's no other formal rules per se but mods have discretion to veto anything that's egregiously cheap).

We have had a couple of spinoffs in the past that intentionally had no restrictions at all (minus not sending songs that had been sent before) but not for a while.
