I've just thought of a potential interesting topic, songs to have peaked at a number mentioned in the title? (obviously we have something like 'She's The One' being a number one etc, but I wonder if there are many examples?)

  • Patrick Wolf's The Magic Position peaked at number 69

  • I've been doing a Countdown style numbers puzzle to try to get 10538 Overture by ELO to its peak position of 9. It took me a while but I've done it: 3 x 8 = 24 -5 = 19 -10 = 9

To be fair, my original post was an idea I came up with in the midweek thread that got separated into its own topic 😂

Mim Webb - 24/5 (well almost, but it does have the words "twenty" and "five" in the title!)

ABBA - Money Money Money (if you sum each appearance of "one")

One Night (Twice!)

You’re the One That I Want

One Day in Your Life

One Moment in Time

The One and Only

I Wanna Be the Only One

Baby One More Time

If You’re Not the One

I Could Be the One

One Day In Your Life - Michael Jackson (number 1 in 1981)

One Night - Elvis Presley (double A-side with I Got Stung) (number 1 in 1958 and 2005)

Song 2 - Blur (number 2 in 1997)

I Wanna Be The Only One - Eternal featuring Bebe Winans (number 1 in 1997)

Three Lions - Baddiel, Skinner and the Lightning Seeds (peaked at number 1, but fell to number 3 on 7 July 1996)

...Baby One More Time - Britney Spears (number 1 in 1999)

2 Times - Ann Lee (number 2 in 1999)

Boogie 2nite - Booty Luv (number 2 in 2006)

There's plenty of others, but that's just a selection I can think of.

Train - 50 Ways to Say Goodbye

(must admit I had to look that one up but I could remember that something reached #50 with the correct number)
