Well I think that last half went quite well, Bronzil and Kathaldazia were essentials (didn't think they were likely to DNQ, but got scared for a second) and I'm really pleased for Flynnonda finally getting in too as that's got a great build to it and really stood out.

Not quite getting a full house of my votes though as Macromia got 6 from me, a shame, I've been wanting to get more familiar with Marika Hackman and this was a really great, moody piece.

I had a great run for almost 2 years, so can’t complain at all.

Oops at the pop bloc forsaking me but have pretty much seen it coming since the listenthrough seemed to just provoke a perplexed reaction (except from Rich, glad to have got your support at least ❤️ edit: thanks Wardy as well x) - nevermind! I've got a dark techno instrumental lined up for next month unless I find something else I want to send more in the mean time so that's probably the end of my ill-fated attempt at pop appeal for now x (and now just hoping for Nuggets to deliver me a slightly better song contest result after floundering a bit in all of the others in the current batch)

I think after song 26 in the running order I'd still only had 7/20 of the songs I'd ranked in my top 10s announced through, but ended up getting 18/20 through, so yeah this running order is definitely rather backloaded for my taste...!

Yehesi delivering such a leftfield song was iconic so a real shame it didn't connect enough. And Tanzer has to be one of the most surprising DNQs of the year even though I didn't personally rate it that highly o:

I also rarely vote for Persephonia so ofc it’s a DNQ when I they’re in my top five in the semi :’)

So shocked at Botanikka too as all the comments seemed to be predicting it a high finale finish. I didn’t vote for that one but I hate to see a Q streak cut down like that :(

I do hope that there was a bit of a gap to 20th there - all three of my DNQs last year missed out by at most 3 points and at the moment it's still possible this was a 4th one in a row
