Monday at 15:575 days I assume the 10th would be Leona Lewis - Spirit? Which sold 375,872 in the first week?

I think it’s more impressive that 3.3m people bought one copy than much less people buying anywhere between 1 and 20 copies.Same here 😕 poor Adele
Wednesday at 19:542 days Must admit I didn’t expect 300k initially, I don’t think it’ll break 400k though. It’ll be interesting to see how it holds up compared to TTPD and Midnights next week. I think it’ll take 2-3 weeks to get past Sabrina for the top selling album this year.
Wednesday at 21:302 days I honestly doubted her managing more than ttpd cos to me that was when she was at her peak during the eras tour! So to see her almost 100k ahead in the mids is insane to see! I do wish it was a better album pulling these numbers but still very happy for her!

(and people have done for years and years and years before that!) Buying more than one copy of an album isn't a new concept. Ofc it's still an impressive feat and I'm clearly not saying everybody bought more than one copy - just saying that there were more than a few people who did buy more than one copy of that album, whether they bought multiple for themselves I obviously don't know (I know people irl who bought duplicate copies of albums for various reasons like 1 for their car and 1 for their home etc..)But anyway, it's insane that we are seeing these levels again. I was starting to doubt we ever would (variants or not) tbh. Physical media (for the most part) is just at a real low right now and the only way artists get to boost their numbers is by releasing different variants (hence why different albums get random chart boosts sometimes when a new variant drops), but even then I didn't think we'd see 400k (or thereabouts) first week again.

Thursday at 05:452 days As for adeles record just read something it seems most of us forgot and that she purposely left it off streaming for the first few months so the only way you could hear it was to buy it 😮

Thursday at 07:092 days So it wasn't so "you had to buy it" as your alluding but rather it was a service that she wasn't convinced about 10 years ago, I noticed that swift was doing the same thing at the time, though her reasons were purely monetry. You really just need to accept that Swift's latest album, with almost as twice many variants as songs on the Album, isn't going to match Week 1, 2 or 5 of "25"
