Although it is inevitable I really don’t want Adele’s record to be broken because she did that with just good old-fashioned sales and no variants. I think it’s more impressive that 3.3m people bought one copy than much less people buying anywhere between 1 and 20 copies.

With Adele as well I feel like the general public were much more aware of that album too. Very intrigued to see the overall impact Showgirl has outside the stan fanbase besides huge sales because with 25 thats definitely been cemented by being insanely genuinely popular without multiple variants and initially it wasn’t on streaming too!

  • As someone who worked in HMV when '25' came out, I can confirm that people did in fact buy more than 1 copy... (and people have done for years and years and years before that!) Buying more than one co

I don't think Taylor will quite do 800,000!

Sorry I was referring to Adele’s album debut in America it was about 3.3 million first week.

Absolute true sales/streaming around 140~150k. Which is great, Factoring the corruption of streaming and multiple buys (Which escalates the bigger the fan base) probably 250~270k

Apparently already done 266k, be ready for an influx of cheating votes 🤣

Is there some reliable source for this?

Good job I can close the poll early then D (which I have just done)

Looks like most of us under-estimated the power of Ms Swift but well done to the 31 people who predicted 250k+. I definitely should have added some higher tiers!

😂😂 I thought i originally voted for the 200 to 250k but for some reason my vote hadn't been counted. I just thought sod it i might aswell just click the 250k plus lol.

Whilst the album is not very good, her crazy fans will buy every vinyl variant available so it will be very high.

I wish I was able to get my hands on one of the other vinyl variants! Unfortunately (for me ofc x) it seems to have been a legit "limited edition" (just like the 'folklore' and 'evermore' variants)... she has not restocked the vinyl variants (yet?).

Wow, I wondered if I'd gone too bold with 302k before we had any Spotify numbers but Taylor is just unstoppable to have already beaten that, insane

INSANE!!! I wonder if the Alt cover cd's are dispatching this week to count? It stated dispatched on / around Friday? So they could be for week 2? I kinda hope they dispatch before so it counts because I'm sure she sold alot of those.

Looking like 400k is on lock by the end of the week by the time all the streaming catches up.

According to Wikipedia:

01 Adele - 25 [803,000]

02 Oasis - Be Here Now [696,000]

03 Ed Sheeran - ÷ [672,000]

04 The Beatles - With The Beatles [530,000]

05 Take That - Progress [518,601]

06 Coldplay - X&Y [464,471]

- Adele - 25 [450,000] *5th Week* -

- Adele - 25 [439,000] *2nd Week* -

07 Take That - The Circus [432,490]

08 Susan Boyle - I Dreamed a Dream [411,820]

09 Dido - Life For Rent [400,351]

10 Various Artists - NOW! That's What I Call Music! 70 [383,002]

No idea what the 10th artist album would be if we ignored Various Artists. (Possibly Leona - Spirit which sold 375,872)
