October 30Oct 30 Lily has announced a theatre tour for next March where she’ll perform the album front to back! Tickets go on sale next Friday! Praying I manage to get some, she’s been on my bucket list for a long time and the album is incredible!
October 31Oct 31 I've absolutely loved reading everyone's thoughts; it's so nice to see us all connect through shared feelings of this unexpected, special album.I knew what the main subject of the album was going in but I didn't realise every song would be about it, almost like a diary that details each event from start to finish. Lily's storytelling is pitch perfect, I can envision every moment in my mind so well. The way the song structures help tell the story as well, such as the repetition of certain lyrics to really emphasise specific thoughts and the phone calls (the voice of "Madeline" is so good, like the words she speaks sound supportive but the voice is just so passive aggressive and stuck-up, you can tell Lily just wanted to claw her eyes out!). Also the gasp I let out going into the song 'Madeline' itself as it dawned on me it was about Lily confronting the other woman! I love being entertained like this as if I'm reading a book or watching a film, seeing the twists and turns in the story. Some of the lyrics in 'Dallas Major' remind me of those in '22', not sure if that was intentional like the "it's not me, it's you" reference was in 'Fruityloop'. Speaking of, what a great concluding moment to the album with Lily making peace with what's happened. It's an absolute thrill to see this album rewarded with growing success! I said previously that I thought a sudden release was the best way to grab people's attention, but I never anticipated success like this. It's going to be a joy to see where the era goes.

The rest of the time it's "who's Madeline?" (or "But who is Madeline, actually?") 🙊🙈Though, "who's Madeline?" does sound similar to "who's meddling?", so it kinda makes sense!

October 31Oct 31 20k sales is an incredible opening!! So happy she made the top 5, could see her having some decent longevity especially with how well the whole album is doing on streaming! I know it’s only been a week but everything continuing to increase is a good sign methinks!
October 31Oct 31 Well me thinking we must be close to the peak on the Monday numbers didn't quite work out! I'm guessing Friday numbers will be yet another new peak and then maybe the Saturday update will be the first decline? Would be amazing if she could keep defying the odds but the increases have slowed over the last couple of days (+1.0 million on Tuesday, 0.7 on Wednesday, 0.4 on Thursday).Hoping to see Pussy Palace in the top 10 next week!
October 31Oct 31 I've never listened to an Lily Allen album, she's pretty much an artist I'd written off as past her peak but I certainly couldn't ignore the buzz here so took a listen - it really hooked me in right from that bait and switch in the title track, really great storytelling and her lyricism is frank and brutal as it's ever been. I agree with the Lemonade comparison, but I think this is a bit harsher and angrier, not really trying to see it from both sides (and so she shouldn't, from what I gather x). I also really like the genre diversity and the progression from harsher genres like D'n'B and 2Step (Ruminating and Relapse are both big highlights) to more quiter moments as she starts to go deeper into her thoughts. I think my only criticism would be it's a little too long for what it is and the later songs don't hit as hard, although I do like that callback to It's Not Me, It's You at the end. That Stranger Things 5 trailer dropped at an opportune time didn't it? 😉

If your least favourites on this album are the more laidback songs then you might not enjoy the more subdued soundscape of No Shame though.
Sunday at 23:414 days I wonder if the album will get an indirect boost from the Millie Bobby Brown allegations against David Harbour? As well as David Harbour breaking his silence over the album and Lily dressing up as Madeline for Halloween

Wednesday at 11:411 day Managed to get a ticket! Tried for London as it’s closest to me and my sister lives there so I can easily get to the show from here but over 20k people in the queue, managed to nab one for Sheffield though, which works as my best friend is studying at uni there so I can stay with her for the weekend!
Wednesday at 11:581 day Went to get tickets for Bristol but was disappointed to see it was a seated gig. It’s sold out now in any case (great for Lily), so that clearly doesn’t bother others.
