  • I know it's a song where kids are threatening to kill each other....but it's all harmless fun really, no reason you can't still give it 12 points

  • Okay I really don’t remember this track but I do have search history from about 23:50 last night that says: “Indie or dance with switch up ending, okay to sound miserable as Jade hosting”

  • It just took me much longer than I care to admit to realise that “MU” and “NA” weren’t perhaps Russian for one and two.

Omg I didn’t even click what the lyrics were. 😅😅

I will also say Rob didn't know it was AI when confirming it if that helps

Yeah I already stated in my thread that I knew it was AI not long after confirming. Didn’t find anything else in the time after to reconfirm with lol.

Reddit's comments aren't exactly pleased to learn of this fact either..

It personally doesn’t affect my feelings towards this song in the contest at all. It means I’m less likely to feel invested in Copperplate and probably won’t check out any future releases but in a song contest… if I like the song (which I do), I’m judging it on that merit and that merit alone.

How did everyone feel about it when Fljótavík sent their AI entry before, I don't remember any dislike for the song at the time, even though it was spoken word all the way through, so that is another factor that made it stand out. I don't know if @dandy* found out before or after he submitted the entry though, not that it matters now.

Presumably somebody on the listenthrough revealed it as being AI too. As that took place before Roba mentioned it was in his thread.

So everyone would be none the wiser if it hadn't been brought up I suppose and it would have been an easy Q causing no dilemma for people.

Headache was slightly different though in that the music was produced by Vegyn, it's just the vocal delivery that was AI, not the entire constructed song.

Yes, someone had read up on the artist and we were all taken aback, extremely convincing as a 'real' artist!

I'd already listened to everything when making the recaps so had already formed an opinion on the song before the unexpected reveal.

I also sent an AI version of Grimes once but that one didn't do anywhere near so well as it DNQd if I recall correctly. I knew that Headache was an AI voice when I sent it, but I think the AI vocal is part of its appeal - especially as the lyrics suit it

Oh yes! Forgot about the AI Grimes.

I really thought someone would send something from the new Headache album this month, but I suppose part of the reason they did so well before is because of the surprise/unique factor, which now isn't there. And obviously it was a brilliant song. A very solid new album though, much brighter than the first album.

I was very tempted to self recycle but I didn't want to risk ruining the legacy of the original track. I too like the follow up album but I don't think the lyrics are quite as wonderful as the first album, the other thing I've noticed is the production has been ramped up a bit over the voice - albeit I only really noticed this when I listen to them side by side

It was actually me who found it out when doing veto research and mentioned it last night. I mostly just mentioned it because I was surprised and had never heard AI sound so real before. As I say, not something that bothers me.

Happy for Ultraviolence to enter with this and give @Brer a real nightmare:

Surprised that didn’t dent charts this summer somewhere, I’ve heard this so many times on TikTok etc 😂

It’s only a matter of time before an AI created song hits the charts. One was already in the UK iTunes/sales chart a few weeks back by an R&B ‘artist’ called Xania Monet.

I think it's been more or less confirmed that the Playboi Carti vocals in both The Weeknd's 'Timeless' and his own 'Rather Lie' were actually some other guy using an AI Playboi Carti filter so it's been in the charts already. Apparently that Xania Monet thing has been charting in some US radio airplay charts already as well :')

I think the usage of AI on things like Headache and that GrimesAI track are a bit different to entirely AI generated songs/artists, those are effectively just the same thing as vocaloid software, the music and lyrics were still made by real people.

As I posted in the Summericia thread already it was disappointing to learn that it was an AI artist but I'm not going to hold that against it when it is a good sounding song and especially when Roba didn't know it was AI when he confirmed it, I will just hope against hope that this is a 'trend' that dies out.

NGL the thought did cross my own mind, a certified banger x

But now how about that song with kids threatening to kill each other and all that jazz? Shocking behaviour x

Reminder that the semi 2 listening session is coming up tonight at 20:00 GMT time!

I'll post the link later 🎶

#notmysemi but I might come along to that too - I've been thinking I want to start listening to the opposite semi's DNQs too, because I usually just listen to my own semi which might mean I'm missing out on other songs I'd like.

Also I'm curious what people will think of the Estonian song hehe. #mattotranslate
