  • You must not be familiar with Alexa’s scammery!

  • EX! EM! EY! ESS! It's a bop.

  • Have to say the excitement of this surprise release and the fact I think XMAS is a great Christmas feel good/singalong song has got me in the festive mood. Streaming on repeat - hopefully Amazon are

Sometimes the odds can be way off and you just never know.

I could be wrong but i feel Wham will be her biggest threat.

I'm thinking at this stage she'll either get that #1 or be blocked by them like Sam Ryder was.

Same here as they hit 100k plus the last couple of years.

Maybe give it a week or two, previous Amazon releases weren’t doing much at this equivalent time either!

Ya im not worried yet as i really dont see this doing anything until much later this month or even early December.

Yep the success of this will be mostly down to people asking Alexa to play Christmas music. It’s still a bit early although of course the daily streams for Christmas songs are rapidly increasing.

How far off was Sam from Xmas number 1 that year?

20k behind:

20/12/2024:

01 59,426 Wham! - Last Christmas

02 49,574 Gracie Abrams - That's So True

03 43,790 Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas Is You

04 39,049 Tom Grennan - It Can't Be Christmas

05 38,285 ROSÉ & Bruno Mars - APT.

One difference between Kylie and Tom's release strategies, is that Tom didn't have physicals counting towards the Christmas chart week - whereas Kylie's physicals will. Instead, Tom's physical sales contributed to the week after, 27th Dec chart, when it climbed to #3:

27/12/2024:

01 114,290 Wham! - Last Christmas

02 94,170 Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas Is You

03 93,702 Tom Grennan - It Can't Be Christmas

04 84,407 Brenda Lee - Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

05 71,523 Bobby Helms - Jingle Bell Rock

Not that pure sales made all that much difference for him. While we don't know how much he sold on vinyl and CD, what we do know is that he reached #2 in the physical singles chart. Wham - Last Christmas was at #1 in that chart with 1,670 sales, so therefore Tom sold less than that. I think we can safely assume Kylie will attract more physical sales. Another thing, Tom didn't do very well on downloads - only reached #33 in the download chart. So it was a hit almost entirely driven by streams.

Yeah it’s way too early for Christmas music, I LOVE Kylie, but even I don’t want to listen to her Christmas music yet 😂

The week beginning 24th November is when it will all kick off.

Yeah, that is the weekend I'll be putting my tree up ready for December so I'll have Xmas music on then... not Alexa though lol.

20k is a fair difference between 1 and 2 then with a push on cd sales from Sam. If it’s similar this year I think it would be a hard ask but you never know.

Kylie fans love to download too, sadly won't be able to on Itunes but we can all down a 99p version on Amazon and dare I say a store exclusive download if that is allowed ....... not sure with the Amazon tie in

Sam Ryder had an extra version his year released midweek so I don’t see why Kylie can’t have an extra version to download. Knowing her team I can see a couple of extra downloads being released if Amazon give it the green light.

Although, they’ll probably be through Amazon still rather than her official store.

I think physicals will do really well I’d say maybe 6/7/8k by the end of the week.

Of course they will but would be great if she does it. Xmas chart announced Fri.19th Dec but another big sales week after for the Boxing Day chart. She could do it that week instead.

Hopefully whatever deal she has with amazon allows for remixes, as well we know fans will support them.
