Canada is great this season, a good mix of unserious/good TV with a genuinely good bunch of queens. I’m not sure this will be a vintage US season but it may improve.

It's only been 2 episodes of S18, so I think it needs more episodes until we can determine if it'll be one of the greats, one of the worst, or just a middle-of-the-road season.

US18 is also pretty fun so far, the majority of the cast is over 30 and it shows in how they approach stuff and read each other

It's hard to see a world where the 3 winners so far (Nini, Vita, Jane) aren't in the final, they feel very noticeably better at knowing their brand than the rest.

Then I think the 4th may be less obvious currently - my brain wants to think Darlene could be a Crystal Methyd style underdog, but perhaps she might wind up being too unpolished to make it work. A comedy queen may well emerge in the next few weeks that I haven't seen coming yet but I'd be surprised if the winner hadn't already won/came top 2 in the first two challenges.

I'm afriad Juicy Love Dion might be the first Jorgeous variant I'm totally on board with

Oh I love Juicy after this episode, I was expecting idgaf “I’ll just lipsync” vibes, especially making a big deal out of not doing comedy or acting, but I love that she clearly has that fire and actually attacked the challenge and ended up killing it. So many queens just phone it in and give up when it’s a challenge that isn’t their bag as if they don’t know it’s coming up when they sign up for Drag Race. I was so impressed how natural it came across. Jane Don’t is absolutely killing it too, she’s eating up everything so far although it is amusing to have a “I’m doing too well” anxiety edit on episode 3 💀💀💀💀I kind of get it I guess it’s a real pressure to stay at that level.

Mandy was incredibly pulled too imo, she wasn’t the best in the challenge but she was no way bottom for me, yeah she did have an awful runway I guess but Vita was flat out the absolute worst in the challenge. It just felt like they already planned her as an early out and would do anything to justify it, she ate up Briar in that lipsync too.

Probably best Mandy was just put out her misery, felt for her being in the bottom three weeks in a row and just looking so defeated by the time she had to lip-sync. A shame because she's such a lovely personality but just got swallowed up really

Juicy on the other hand absolutely slayed this week really hope she can continue to shine and surprise them. Jorgeous variant is a good comparison lmao but she's soooo much more likeable already (at least more than every iteration of Jorgeous past her first season).

Athena I just... feel myself disliking more and more every week. The contempt for Briar (who I actually enjoyed a lot this week!) and being so affected by her, like girl if you're the so-called Queen of Miami why is it bothering you so much? Just seems to have such a high opinion of herself and so far hasn't really backed it up beyond some fantastic runway looks.

Mandy 100% wasn't ready for tv and tbh I found her a little strange too. I wonder if she was raised evangelical or something like that. She reminded me of someone I know irl.

There was no way they were going to save her over Briar and I suspect they chose a song she would find hard for this lipsync.

I don't think Mandy Mango was incredible, but this episode really felt like someone on production was scared of her mug and needed her gone immediately. I was shook when they said they loved Vitas look

This judging was crazy, there is no way on earth Athena did better than Darlene and honestly she was barely better than Briar’s?! Her sending Briar home would have been perfect storyline wise too for her. I think she’s being pushed due to name and status because this is twice now she should have been low at the very least yet she was safe.

Athena really is just gonna go far based on the name alone, because that look was not it. Darlene's wasn't perfect or easy on the eye by any means but still a fair bit better. Loved Ciara's look this week but she's still just fading into the background as a bit of a non-entity among the others for me.

I was pretty annoyed with the queens' attitude towards Nini's talent being "something we've already seen"

Ladies, most of us do not live in your bubble. This is both the first time most people watching have heard of Nini Coco at all, let alone seen what her act is.

4 million views really isn't that many and doesn't mean that 4 million people have seen it!

That lip-sync was absolutely EVERYTHING oh my god Juicy and Mia both brought it.

Poor Ciara didnt deserve the bottom, not with that Vita number.

Athena is quite expectedly all talk and nothing at all behind it. The look from the design challenge did not deserve top in the slightest. Every other queen would’ve been read to filth for that.

I also think Mandy did not deserve to go home so quickly, the production reallyyyyy hated her for some f***ing reason.

So far the season has been… okay. Two design challenges in 4 episodes, not a good sign especially because the quality of last last one was one of the worst I’ve ever seen on Drag Race US :’)
