  • A new female artist who we do not know the name of yet has a massive breakthrough/debut year and become sone of the key names of 2026 - including the year's biggest hit

  • Act III lead goes top 3 however does not have the same level of love that BMS and Texas got, the second single however is the defining hit of the album

  • Ariana's tour leads to Into You re-entering the top 50

  • Raye has multiple top 10 hits during 2026 from her album

  • Most No.1 singles since 2020

  • We're all shocked as Jade manages to bag a big hit from her 2nd album

  • Drakes album comes out and underperforms compared to his previous albums

  • Central Cee and Skye Newman collaboration becomes one of the biggest hits of the summer - top 2

  • Harry Styles returns and is the biggest male artist of the year, a ballad in memory of Liam becomes a multiple week No.1

  • Adele also returns with an album that is more successful than 30 but still lagging behind from 21 and 25

  • Every single from Olivia's new album reaches the top 5 - including a No.1

  • Western pop groups start to slowly return into fashion with Katseye surprisingly having a moderate hit and Simon Cowell's new boy band Decmeebr 10th getting a top 40 entry as the song goes viral on Tiktok due to everyoine hating on it

  • BTS come back with a top 3 single, it falls off quickly

  • Christmas No.1 - a campaign to get a 70s classic to No.1 becomes very successful

  • Number 1s from: Harry, Olivia, Beyoncé, Adele, Central Cee, Calvin Harris

can that first one be Adéla 🥺

My predictions;

• Beyoncé drops Act III, with lots of collabs, but the lead single struggles to reach top 5, following singles do not struggle tho

• Pop Punk has another big year, with Bey, Olivia and maybe more (Gaga? Miley?) having big wins in the genre

• Debut (TV) drops with no major singles as taylor will still promote TLOAS, no TS13

• Ariana’s tour gives a massive revival to her discog, with songs like ‘warm’ and ‘dandelion’ getting a major revival with other songs being scattered.

• New Albums from Jade, Chappell, Sabrina, Katseye and Raye

• Adéla gets a massive year thanks to Demi’s tour (like Chappell from Olivia’s tour).

• Sam Fender drops stray singles, no album.

• Katseye doesn’t push ‘Internet Girl’ as a single cos HYBE aren’t stupid and are aware of what happened to ‘The Giver’.

• BTS comeback isnt as monumental as it’s being made out to be, Katseye or Stray Kids then becomes HYBE’s main focus.

• Calvin Harris has another string of big singles following ‘Blessings’

• Another major year for RnB

• Hip Hop flops hard, until Kendrick drops another album in the final third of the year. Only successes are Tyler and potentially Latto? (idk i get vibes she’ll have a big year)

• Katy Perry somehow gets a comeback with a random album track that goes viral on TT, saving her career

• Hopefully new stuff from Jessie Ware, Christina Aguilera, Bad Bunny and Arctic Monkeys (hopefully an AM style album)

• We get two artists (one male, one female) who debut big on their first single ever

  • House is back. Not 2014 level but building on last year's big hits like No Broke Boys, Blessings and Dior.

  • Sombr releases a follow up album but it doesn't hit like the debut. (Think 2025 Benson Boone)

  • Raye will have a big year and finally string some hits together in a coherent way

  • The Charlie XCX/Wuthering Heights thing will be huge on TikTok and thus in the charts.

  • Beyonce releases Part III, it will feature a collab with Slash from Guns and Roses. The narrative of the whole thing will be controversial and annoying.

  • The Brit awards continue their irrelevance to the music industry

  • A new girlband will debut to try and capture the HunterX pop space

  • Teddy Swims will be over.

  • Paris Paloma will continue to get less industry support than she deserves

Sienna Spiro wins critics choice at the brits, releases a successful debut album.

Olivia Dean continues to blow up globally.

Madonna releases a critically acclaimed number one album and announces a tour.

Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny sweep at the Grammys.

Coldplay returns with new music.

Nicki Minaj flops after her political decisions overshadow she career.

Lily Allen continued success with West End Girl.

Harry Styles returns with a new album and tour.

Westlife to reach the no.1 in the charts again?!?

I'll have a proper brainstorm in the coming days but for now will shout out Erin LeCount as a breakout star for next year

My predictions:

  • RAYE has a really big year, with at least one #1 single, and her album is even bigger than her first one.

  • Harry Styles has a massive #1 lead single that stays at #1 for at least 5 weeks, and has another #1 in the year.

  • Olivia Rodrigo's third album is more mature sounding, and has more than one #1 hit.

  • Rein Me In achieves a new peak into 2026.

  • One of the Little Mix girls has a big solo hit, but it doesn't peak at #1, but is still top 4.

  • Beyoncé's third act doesn't do as well as her first two in the charts, but is her best received of the three by critics.

  • Tate McRae has a song that becomes her highest-charting song to date.

  • Ed Sheeran releases another studio album that does even worse.

  • KATSEYE achieve their first top 20 hit, but it peaks in the #15 to #20 region.

  • Chappell Roan scores her third #1 single, and her album also goes to #1.

  • Olivia Dean is the most awarded person at the 2026 BRIT Awards.

  • Bad Bunny gets his biggest solo hit in the UK to date because of the SuperBowl.

  • An emerging female dance music singer becomes the newest hot singer in the dance music scene, and achieves multiple hits, including a top 5.#

  • Katy Perry gets her first top 40 single since "Daisies", but falls out of the chart fast.

  • Sienna Spiro does well in the charts, and gets a top 3 debut album that sells well.

Ariana Grande breaks the record for having all her albums chart simultaneously in 1 week during tour in August. (If hasn't been broken but I couldn't find somebody who charted all at once in the uk)

Unless I've misunderstood, One Direction had all their albums chart following Liam's death

Yes Jade, Skye or Sienna are a good shout for Amazon exclusive.

OTHER PREDICTIONS:

A Tiktok boost for a big 90s eurodance classic - won't quite return to top 40 though.

A fast tempo DJ Heartstring type trance tune will become a hit.

Harry Styles' comeback will sound a bit like Sombr 12 to 12.

Olivia Rodrigo does well too after she goes pop rock again.

More electro type hip hop songs after the success of Tyler The Creator's - Sugar On My Tongue.

This might also lead to the return of more dancepop and dance influences in US R&B and other music inspired by the second half of 00s such as Timbaland.

Singer songwriter/ folk pop ballads will finally start to underperform in the charts after its peak saturation with Noah Kahan and Alex Warren. More stuff like Sombr instead.

A bit of a revival in UK hip hop/drill making the charts (has already started with EsDee Kid and Fred Again.../Skepta).

Poor aged up Adele lol

I was going to say, it'd be more likely title 35 or 36, maybe 37.

Well she already 37 maybe she's holding out until 40 might have a better ring to it 🤣

A few for me, I'll probably add more later:

  • George Ezra will release his 4th album and it'll debut at #1. His previous 3 albums being released in 2014, 2018 and 2022.

  • Steps won't release any new music but will announce plans late in 2026 to release new music in 2027 to celebrate 30 years of Steps.

  • Calvin Harris collaborates with JADE on a summer single that goes to #1. This will cause one of JADE's previous singles to go into the charts with a new peak.

  • Sugababes will release their long awaited new album in the summer. Two more singles will be released beforehand though. One in Feb/Mar and one in Apr/May.

  • P!nk will be back in the September/October with a new single which will peak in the top 20, the album will follow in 2027. She'll also be announced as the 2027 Super Bowl Halftime performer.

  • One of Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa or Taylor Swift will be the Amazon Exclusive Christmas song in 2026.

  • Harry Styles will release a new album and single, both of which will top the year end charts respectively.

  • Another year and no new albums from Rihanna or Adele.

I looked her up, 808 hymn is amazing. Her label need to connect her to Calvin Harris or MK and get her some big features to launch her on the back off.

Yay, glad you enjoyed - '808 HYMN' is the song that got me into her after hearing it on Radio 1's Future Pop show a few months ago. wub

This is what Alessi Rose, Chloe Qisha and Rose Gray’s labels need to do to get them out there!
