Welcome to Pop Track of the Week 2026!

Each week, new releases from the worlds of pop and country are selected to go head to head, with one weekly winner. The winners will then go up against future weekly winners later in the year - at the end of each quarter and again at the end of the year - to determine the ultimate winner of 2026.

This week, you're voting in both Week 1 and Week 2 to determine our first two winners of 2026.

Week 1:

Choose one song that is your favourite from the selection of new releases this week. Feel free to post a rate of the songs in the thread.

Here are this week's contenders:

Agnes - WAKE UP

EARTH TO EMILY - ROCKET

Harvey Brittain - can’t say no

KATSEYE - Internet Girl

Nick Jonas - Gut Punch

Sabrina Carpenter - Such a Funny Way

Week 2:

Here are this week's contenders:

Connie Talbot - Original

Erin LeCount - I BELIEVE

Jenny on Holiday - Quicksand Heart

Johnny Orlando - Emilia

Luke Combs - Sleepless in a Hotel Room

Maya J’an - cul-de-sac

Michael Aldag - Superstar

Robyn - Talk to Me

Sarah Kinsley - Lonely Touch

Results of this week's poll will be revealed in next week's thread. The poll will remain open until 04:59 on Friday!

Do I lose Robyn stan rights if I go with 'Lonely Touch'? brat

Go for Sarah - it is better than "Talk To Me"

Week 1 - Nick

Week 2 - Robyn

Surprised how much I'm liking Talk to Me because its counterpart is certainly not it kink

A couplet of Swedes - Agnes and Robyn. Would've probably plumped for Haute & Freddy if they'd made the cut though.

Week 1: Agnes

Week 2: Maya J’an - I'd playlisted this as one of the standouts from NMF without knowing anything about her and before I saw this poll. Wouldn't be surprised to see it in BJSC...

Week 1:

1 Sabrina Carpenter

2 Harvey Brittain

3 Agnes

4 KATSEYE

5 EARTH TO EMILY

6 Nick Jonas

Me voting for Sabby Carpz in a BuzzJack poll, what has the world come to

(the rest aren't up to much, I was disappointed the KATSEYE song wasn't really even entertainingly a mess, it's just a middle of the road girlgroup pop song with a le funnie random lyric slapped on as the chorus)

Week 2:

1 Maya J'an

2 Erin LeCount

3 Jenny On Holiday

4 Robyn

5 Luke Combs

6 Connie Talbot

7 Sarah Kinsley

8 Johnny Orlando

9 Michael Aldag

Better list, never heard of Maya J'an but this is a cool first impression, and I think the Erin and Jenny songs are both a little better than their respective recent BJSC entries (although the latter is still not a patch on most of the Let's Eat Grandma songs I know). The Robyn song is decent but not as good as 'Dopamine' for me. Luke Combs in ~rock~ mode is definitely more palatable than his vomit inducing overly sincere country ballads but this song is no 'Ain't No Love In Oklahoma'. Sarah Kinsley is truly queen of making songs that I think sound competent but just make absolutely no impression on me at all. The vocals on the Aldag song were pretty painful. x
