Knowing him, it's probably a song about the benefits of eating pineapple.

”Going to Walmart being papped naked next to the Pineapples” or to paraphrase whatever Olly Murs said.

Does “sounding commercial” even matter as much anymore? Especially for artists like Harry who will get Tik Tok virality immediately making it a huge smash and linger around for ages etc..?

Olivia held off Dave on the weekly Spotify chart to take third place outright in the most weeks list ahead of 'One Dance', but that remains ahead on days and will probably stay that way now:

Most Days at #1 on UK Spotify

1| Wham! - Last Christmas (136 days)

2| Alex Warren - Ordinary (128)

3| Drake feat. Wizkid & Kyla - One Dance (101)

4| Olivia Dean - Man I Need (98)

5| Dave & Central Cee - Sprinter (87)

6| Tones and I - Dance Monkey (81)

7| Noah Kahan - Stick Season (78)

8| Post Malone & 21 Savage - rockstar (77)

9| Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You (76)

10| Drake - God's Plan (75)

Most Weeks at #1 on UK Spotify

1| Wham! - Last Christmas (23 weeks)

2| Alex Warren - Ordinary (18)

3| Olivia Dean - Man I Need (15)

4| Drake feat. Wizkid & Kyla - One Dance (14)

5=| Dave & Central Cee - Sprinter (12)

5=| Noah Kahan - Stick Season (12)

5=| Tones and I - Dance Monkey (12)

8=| Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa - One Kiss (11)

8=| Drake - God's Plan (11)

8=| Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso (11)

(both lists do not include combinations with remixes, for which e.g. 'Shape of You' had 16 weeks and 'Despacito' 14 weeks)

P.S. Olivia does get another new daily peak today, with 'The Hardest Part' climbing to #25

Neither the Arctics nor Harry are commercial or instant, I think I'll need to sit with both a while before I make up my mind on them. I'm sure it won't hurt Harry's chart potential though, he could release a fart and it would go to #1!

Is this the first time Arctic Monkeys had a top 10 Spotify debut?

No as off the top of my head I remember 'There'd Better Be a Mirrorball' debuting at #1 on Spotify *.*

'There’d Better Be A Mirrorball' had a #1 debut in August 2022, but they haven't had any others that I know of

I'm assuming Louis hasn't appeared anywhere with his Wednesday release, hopefully the album can do alright its actually quite decent

I don't think it matters much for the first day/week but for songs to stick around as hits they still need to have some level of wide appeal or they'll fall away quickly regardless of the name power of the artist.

Come on Victoria, now is the perfect time to get 'Let Your Head Go' and 'This Groove' added to streaming services!!

Yeah day 1 is always curiosity streams , day 2 negativity reviews might give a boost but long term they dont last

I couldn't be bothered to read the whole wall of text re: this Beckham drama - are we supposed to be rooting for Victoria here or nah? x

I just need @Auld Lang Peen! 's reaction to this streaming surge xx

But he’s already got Tik Tok virality on his side. I’ll be surprised if this isn’t a 9-week stretch at number 1 (well, depending when he drops the next single - if he even does?) but I guess we’ll seeee (maybe I am over estimating though ofc)

On the VB things… I feel really bad for Brooklyn tbh. The claims he made should be taken seriously imo.

(But also, some of the memes ARE genuinely funny)

Lil Uzi Vert - What You Saying up to #48 today.

On the weekly chart, 'Trap Queen' is up by 44% so a reset may be incoming if it isn't still too low for the OCC to bother with - sadly 'Boys Don't Cry' is only up 21% so that looks like chance gone, unless they apply their rule belatedly á la 'Upside Down'. 'The Less I Know The Better' reached a new daily peak of #70 yesterday and #78 weekly so may sneak into the streaming chart.

LYHG was such a bop!

Here for the resurgence - can't imagine it was on anyone's list of things for 2026

Victoria's album is also now charting on Apple Music, entering at #179

and the song is #1 on Spotify's Viral 50 playlist 😂

Virgin posted about it being #1 yesterday on Instagram too so maybe whoever owns the rights now (is it Warner?) might try to give it a lil streaming push if this holds? 💀
