BOOT CAMP: PART ONE

ALL-OUT POP BANGERS!

GROUPS

Congratulations on making it to Boot Camp. Markus Riva and Girlicious didn't make it after being booted into the depths of outer space, but the search for Lady BuzzJack must go on and Space Fleet 26 have touched down on a colourful, vibrant planet full of nature and wildlife. The stage is set for the artists to perform, but resources on board the spacecraft are depleting further and in just under a week's time three artists will be left behind on this planet, fending for themselves in the wild as the rest of the fleet search for resources to refuel in Boot Camp: Part Two. It's time to welcome back all of the groups to the stage to perform for you, the voting BuzzJack public, to continue on Pop Fleet 26's mission.

How it works:

Once you have listened to all of the artists perform you should post a ranking of each of the performances. You can rank them from best to worst (making clear which is your favourite down to least favourite), or use the template below:

01 (favourite)

02

03

04

05

06

07

08

09

10

11 (least favourite)

For those voting who have entered one of the artists into the competition, you should rank all eleven performances in your own category (however it's encouraged that you vote in both other categories), and when totalling up scores your entry will be removed from the list to retain anonymity in the competition.

As always, even if you are not competing in The Pop Factor you can vote too!

When voting closes, the ten groups with the highest scores will proceed to the Boot Camp: Part Two while ONE of the groups will be eliminated from the competition and will not be going through.

Voting will close on Monday 23 February 2026, 17:59 GMT

So let's welcome the artists back and hear the ALL-OUT POP BANGER they've decided to perform...

cheeseblock

Was just about the say the same!

They are bops though jump

Let's just end this contest and announce Calvin Harris as the winner of Pop Factor S2 cheeseblock

ABBA finally coming with a HIT <3

I love majority of these and tbh it's going to be hard to rank them but I might give a couple of days and listen them multiple times!!!

Yeah, this one is going to be very tough to rank - on first glance I think it seems like the strongest group but I'll reserve judgement as I don't know anywhere near as many in the other heats.

There’s legit 6 songs I could EASILY have as my number 1 without even listening to the playlist yet. This is gonna be rough !

GASLIGHTER!!! PRAY TO GOD!! SPECTRUM!!! FILTHY/GORGEOUS!!!

The groups, once again, did not come to play!!

Indeed a very strong group, 11 great songs. The only bad thing about it is that I won't be making any new discoveries here! I can't really predict who will go out.

Having said that, the groups all playing a very strong hand this early while the solo females and many of the males sent mostly unknown songs could give those artists more to play with down the line.

I just did my first listen and that first half o >>>> bops after bops

For me personally The Corrs seems to be the weakest link in here but will root for them as usual <3

Strongest link for me! My favourite song of 1998.

Just listened to them all again, although I know them all like the back of my hand so feel comfortable voting now in this group:

  1. The Corrs - So Young (K-Klass Remix) (Sharon's violin middle eight is one of my favourite things in any song ever)

  2. ABBA - SOS (one of their brilliant early hits, incredible)

  3. Florence + the Machine - Spectrum (Say My Name) [Calvin Harris Remix] (this was such a great remix of an already strong album track)

  4. Erasure - Sometimes (I'm not a huge Erasure fan generally but I do make an exception for this and A Little Respect, one of the best songs ever)

  5. Atomic Kitten - I Want Your Love (great use of sample, their fun pre Whole Again/MOR era hits are underrated!)

  6. The Chicks - Gaslighter (wish I could rate it higher, another great selection from The Chicks and I hope they get through again)

  7. Blondie - Denis (legendary again from Blondie, who rarely put a foot wrong)

  8. Scissor Sisters - Filthy/Gorgeous (says it all how good this was that it became the biggest hit of the album so many singles into the era)

  9. Calvin Harris feat. HAIM - Pray to God (crazy low chart peak for this looking back)

  10. Ace of Base - Cruel Summer (Big Bonus Mix) (glad the Big Bonus mix was chosen as it's much better than the album version, although still Bananarama's original outpaces it)

  11. The 1975 - The Sound (I actually really like this, and feel bad about it being last!)

OMG some absolute bangers as expected! Plus The Chicks. Only joking lol I'll reserve judgement until I hear it. This is easily looking like the toughest set to choose from so far, I'm going to have to make some very tough decisions!!

Not me turning out to be a hater… but not a fan of many in this group at all oops!

Gonna be “rough” for me for the compelte opposite reasons it seems!

Calvin Harris feat. HAIM - Pray to God (damn this is still so good <3)

Florence + the Machine - Spectrum (Say My Name) [Calvin Harris Remix] (a rare Florence song that I truly love, but is it because of her or him kink)

Ace of Base - Cruel Summer (Big Bonus Mix) (agreed that this version really elevates the song and takes it to where it needs to be wub)

ABBA - SOS

Scissor Sisters - Filthy/Gorgeous

Atomic Kitten - I Want Your Love

Blondie - Denis

Erasure - Sometimes

The Chicks - Gaslighter

The 1975 - The Sound

The Corrs - So Young (K-Klass Remix)

I really love everything in this group and even the bottom three are pretty good, but for this theme I am really drawn more to the songs at the top wub
