Thanks. It's a slightly sugary atmospheric trip-hoppy love song so yeah I can see how it wouldn't be everyone's cuppa haha. But glad it was many people's cuppa!!

I could share Halou songs for years tbh! If anyone is interested I did just recently make a playlist collecting their discography from all their projects that are available on Spotify (they're quite secretly prolific so also have some stuff that isn't on there).

I thought it was going to be a real marmite choice so to come in the middle with over a ton in points is pleasantly surprising. Political and socially charged songs can often be divisive and she's possibly a touch abrasive for some but I hope a few of you found something there to investigate.

Fully caught up now - congratulations Mattias on your win! I thought I had voted for Halou until my votes were revealed as I juggled the lower end a lot, so they must have just dropped out, but no matter - Ugress were also close, then all of 3rd-11th made my top 10, so these results were pretty aligned with my tastes, and only my bronze medallist GOSS deserved much better.

And thank you Sabrewulf for the top score - songs by the same artist are never guaranteed to have the same appeal, so I'm pleased you liked this recent R. Missing song as well as yours from BJSC! Turns out this was my only medal, but glad many others liked it too - 17 voters feels a lot for 12th, so thanks to all of you. I think 'infinifalls' is my favourite of hers that I've heard, though as I charted it last year, I fancied sending a different song here.

Caught up with these results a bit late on the night of as I slept through most of them again but just realised I hadn't posted anything in here yet x

Congrats Mattias, the Halou song was actually just inside my votes after my first listen but ended up being knocked out, still a good winner though! Funnily enough the opposite is true for the runner up as Ugress was one of the couple of songs that rose into my votes after my second listen. Honestly not sure I'd have called either of them as being likely winners (and Elephant Kind even less so, that one didn't make a particularly strong impression on me) so quite an unexpected looking top 3 there for me especially with that top 2 being pretty far ahead of the pack!

I voted for 6 of the top 10, Placid Angles was the other one that climbed into my top 10 after a relisten so nice to see that one in the top 5 and then the lower half of the top 10 is stacked with bangers, my 3rd through 5th placers all ending up there. I'm not sure I actually knew Sega Bodega was involved with Kiss Facility before somehow (they've been in BJSC before but maybe I didn't research their songs) but that does make sense now I know it x My top 2 fared a little bit less well but both still at least managing midtable, I was a little worried the GAS song might tank (geddit) as I don't recall it getting much positivity on SyncTube other than from myself so glad to have been wrong about that, ambient music really hits when it's done right. Would have maybe hoped to see a song as standout as the Brìghde Chaimbeul one do a bit better than 18th though. pôt-pot and They Are Gutting A Body Of Water both deserved to do much better as well, the former was a really cool toe-tapping opener to the tracklist.

Fairly happy with a top 15 result for myself especially as it also got kind of middling reception on SyncTube compared to what I hoped for - got a pretty nice spread of scores, thanks to @King Rollo for a gold medal, @Jade for a silver, @AllStarBySmashMouth and @awardinary for bronzes and @Suedehead2, @Ansel, @WhoOdyssey, @uhsting, @Dobbo, @leww (yasss being able to tag you now xox), @pavi, @Iz様 🌟, @Chez Wombat, @dhwe and @jimwatts for the rest of the points! (By my count I got 103 so I'm missing something on the final scoreboard unless I copied a score down wrong somewhere but it doesn't affect my position so no biggie x).

For anyone who may care, I was quite torn between the song I went for (longer and heavier) and this one (perhaps a bit more palatable and 'catchier', focusing a bit less on the doom and more on the gaze):

I think I still like them about equally for quite different reasons, so I just ended up defaulting to thinking that going for a longer song might make it stick in people's memories a bit better hehe.

I had listened to some of the Blackwater Holylight album before and thought it was a decent listen, was cool to see it showing up here. Illegal Aliens I'd also heard before the contest (once) and that was very fun to see here, I'll have to check more of hers out too.

Oh no , now I have to figure it out where did that 1 point go then...it might not affect your placement, but if I give that 1 point to someone else by mistake on the spreadsheet, then it might change their scoreboard!!!

I actually found the issue, which I corrected on my spreadsheet from the get go, but totally failed to mention this during presentation

But it appears Who voted for 13 songs and he has a 9 pointer, so from then I deducted one point from songs ranking 9 to 2, and that means you technically received 5 instead of 6!!! Also his 1 pointer didn't receive anything!!!

disappointed that I could have done better here had I seen the thread earlier but REALLY surprised at how Dayflower did! I honestly felt so defeated this edition after getting beat to my entry, then having nothing, then getting vetoed, then going back to having nothing, and then last minute confirming a song I found on Instagram 😵‍💫 really can't believe y'all took to this well, especially @RabbitFurCoat and @Jade for those top scores!
