FUFN and Silent Disco are genuinely my favourite thing she’s done so far?! Idk I hope Silent Disco stays a while yet.

Nearly had a heart attack then Thought they were both eliminated b2b then😅

16: Midnight Cowboy [8.02]

THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY!: *Tim (11); Scene, Henessy Lake, 777666jason, Juranamo, blacksquare, starbaker & Tafty (10)

THAT'S NOT SHOWBIZ HUN!: shadow2009 & billy. (03)

At number 16 is the deliciously dirrty 'Midnight Cowboy'. That production is stellar! So dark, gritty & dirrty. It's so DAMN GOOD and deserves better than 16th place here! It sounds like it'd fit perfectly on Britney's album 'Blackout' to me. Her line delivery specifically in this song just does things to me that I can't quite fully explain. It's so delicious. I really need an album full of this and 'Glitch' type, dark & gritty r&b pop from her! The video/visualiser is excellent too and proves what we all already know... what an absolute megastar she is! The way she commands the screen... WHEW!

Surprised that Midnight Cowboy is this low. I always thought is was liked much more here.

Tbf looking at the averages its basically 1 or 2 bad scores that can make a huge difference between a song being 16 and high top 10

Love MC just so fun ans raucous

I'm just catching up Headache at 17 is an absolute travesty!

You all need your heads testing (Or ears)🤭

(I'm genuinely shocked at Glitch, NAD and Midnight Cowboy being so low)

Ffs I should have voted! Silent Disco wonderfully higher than I would have expected - although Natural At Disaster being that low 😭

I always slept on Midnight Cowboy. Releasing it as a promo single which then didn't do well felt like it killed a bit of AOMD momentum.

But now I really like the song. It's grown on me since album release and it being part of the run of singles at the start.

I dont think it killed AOMD momentum if anything it distracted from Fantasy being the single not even 2 weeks later , (although that ran into even more understandabke promo issues 😢)

Also late on Wednesday release was interesting, so it still going top 100 was impressive

What I meant was that AOMD was so big, then MC felt like it killed the momentum of Jade's solo career before Fantasy then put it in danger of being totally squashed.

I do wonder if things might have been different if FUFN or IT Girl had immediately followed AOMD.

Oh I agree FUFN or IG should of been single 2 no doubt about it fantasy as great as a song as it is felt safe following a risky debut (that worked so well)

A song like 'Fantasy' was never going to be a hit. I like it a lot but it's very "niche" sounding in a Jessie Ware kinda way and it doesn't have a big hook or anything.

Midnight Cowboy really, really underwhelmed me when I first heard it. Such a huge drop in quality from AOMD and I agree it killed the momentum from that and ruined the hype for the Fantasy release. A stupid move to release it as a promo single.

I like the production on it but the chorus is so meh.

15: Lip Service [8.11]

THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY!: Scene & Billy. (11); 777666jason, Mr. C Joel, Juranamo, starbaker & -Jay- (10)

THAT'S NOT SHOWBIZ HUN!: Calum (03)

Into the top 15 we go and starting it off is the (seemingly) fan favourite, 'Lip Service'! This is the first of just 4 songs to get more than 1 score of "11" appointed to it. This has all the sounds of a ready made, radio SMASH HIT to it, but unfortunately I'm not sure radio stations would really go for this in it's current form and it'd probably get an absolute BUTCHERING of a radio edit. By FAR the most "fun" and tongue in cheek song there is on the album and it shows how far JADE is willing to go with her lyrical content (with aid and assistance from Tove Lo ofc!). The video is excellent and has JADE in character as one of the late night "Babestation" TV stars as she uses the lyrics to entice her "client" to spend more. It's a really fun and clever concept and PERFECT for the song. The performance of this on tour is incredible. I urge all of you to seek it out! Also... I can't talk about this song without mentioning THE TRANSITION from 'Self Saboteur' into this song is... *chef's kiss*.
