I really cant listen to any of Drake’s songs, maybe im too old or too gay for that type of music, but i cant understand the hype.

I don't think it's anything to do with being old or gay, you just have taste x

  • Or perhaps we aren’t as obsessed with Drake?   I think after over a decade you need to come to terms with the fact this is how most people consume music now and so this is how the chart is compiled.

  • FFS Drake. The Ebola of the music world.

I’m surprised they done nothing with it - most ESC songs get a remix, Eurovision edit and for the past few years a physical release.

Totally pointless it clearly didn't go down well at all. Our entry almost always goes top 3 on iTunes and this stuck at 18. There's definitely a problem when you can't even get a few itunes downloads.

It's a shame, albeit expected by now, that LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER didn't even make the midweek top 100. Not sure if this has happened for any UK entry since the OCC started publishing a midweek top 100 in late 2014 - even Michael Rice in 2019 made #100 in the Monday mids.

I can't remember a worse UK Eurovision entry, I blame the BBC it needs to go back to giving the public a say in the choice.

You have a pretty bad memory then... x

Perhaps but I can remember watching Cliff Richard and cringing. Cheering Mary Hopkins and being embarrassed by Lulu

Electro Velvet, Josh Dubovie, James Newman, Andy Abraham and friends say hi 🤣

I can remember quite a few from this century alone!

Josh Dubovie and Michael Rice immediately come to mind at the very least.

Electro Velvet still one of our best entries of this century though don't @ me x

(I do personally think LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER is one of our better entries too but can understand why it didn't go down well - this particular song is not exactly the best showcase of his talents)

Listing worst UK eurovision entries and noone mentioning Jemini is suprising 😳

I'm gay and in my 30's and I used to be a fan of Drake's music, so many great songs. But Kendrick Lamar ended that for me. Drake is just cringe now. I don't know why anyone would still listen to his music now. He's irrelevant and his music is the worst it's ever been.

Ohh it can get worse. Check out UK 2010's "That sounds good to me" if you dare. That also came last at Eurovision for the UK too, absolute cheese and mortifying.

No point in asking the public, the BBC would still be responsible in presenting the choices of songs and they'll all be bad choices anyway. 🤣

He put out some really good stuff in the early 10s, but since 2015 there's only been a handful of passable tracks. 99% atrocious.

Yeah agree with this, 'Hotline Bling' was probably the last properly decent track he released! Mad that 80% of his chart hits came after that!

Nice For What was his last A-tier song imo but I also like Life Is Good, Toosie Slide, Girls Want Girls and NOKIA from this decade.

‘Take Care’ is such a beautiful song - definitely my favourite Drake track.

But then again the song is probably older than you - it first charted on Billboard in 1960.

And because of the song’s connection to The XX, I’d say it’s pretty gay too.

I agree with all of this! It is an ok song and I’m happy to playlist it – but it just didn’t connect with the audience, either in the UK or across Europe.

Actually his Made of Honour is good. Give it a try.
