New Religion indeed on ACR 💔 #95 on the midweeks

  • Sorry what? If anything I'd have said it was self indulgent for her to perform it all the time considering it's... not her song? Lol

I will be holding Fleetwood Mac personally responsible and I demand a notes app apology from Stevie Nicks for blocking song of the year contender New Religion from the top 40 x (I'm joking) (mostly)

Official Charts Report

Olivia Rodrigo leads this week’s Official Chart: First Look with brand new single The Cure.

The second single from her upcoming third studio album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love is currently 1100 chart units ahead of reigning Number 1, Rein Me In by Sam Fender & Olivia Dean. If she can hold on at the top it’ll mark Rodrigo’s fifth Official UK Number 1 single. The singer’s previous track Drop Dead is up five places on the First Look at Number 5.

Meanwhile, The Chemical Brothers’ Go is up four places to Number 3 after 48 hours. Originally released in 2015 but seeing a surge in interest due to the Netflix film Apex, if it stays on course it will become their fifth Top 5 single.

Zara Larsson could bounce back up the chart with two tracks; Lush Life (7) and Midnight Sun (10) are both up five places so far - could last night's headline slot at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend push them further?

Big summer dance banger Free Your Mind by Prospa & Cloonee could land a new peak, up five at Number 17, and finally, Charli xcx's latest offering SS26 is eyeing a Number 18 debut - potentially her 27th Official Top 40 single.

The Official Chart: First Look offers a first glance of the Top 20 ahead of Friday’s Official Singles Chart Top 100. The chart is based on preliminary sales and early streaming reports.

Team Maisie this week!!!

I think Michael Jackson will be too far ahead but hopefully a third top 3 album will be on lock.

I think Maisie is going to underperform - she’ll do well on physicals but the 5 singles/buzz tracks she’s released in the build up to this era haven’t troubled the Top 100 and there dosen’t seem to be a ton of hype over the release?

The album as a whole seems a bit flat compared with her previous work.

I think Maisie has a bigger fanbase now than when The Good Witch was released, so florescence might do better week 1 but then collapse? It will be interesting to see

As it's Big Weekend , no chart show scheduled on Sunday night.

I looked at the thread for this time last year - we didn't get any update at all on Radio 1, plus no OCC article on Sunday night - and as it was a Bank Holiday weekend. the first update was on Tuesday.

Probably the same this weekend - who knows.

Think Michael Ball will get the biggest physical sales this week but might not be enough to keep the other Michael from returning to the top

Looking forward to seeing how Billy Lockett gets on and if he can make the album charts - have been following his journey on insta (his mum gives him weekly updates on how the CD and vinyl have been selling on pre-order 🤣).

The last update was 1,453 physical pre-orders, plus 350 download lanyards, he’s also just gone to #1 on iTunes and has some signings this week.

Im assuming we will have to suffer a different 3rd track for Drek this week then since still lingering around 😢

I think Maisie will take that, she’s got a few different vinyl and cd variants and she’s just done a run of record store shows where ticket bundles could come with physicals! This was her last opening week for the good witch

01 20,760 Maisie Peters - The Good Witch [9,475 CDs, 5,286 vinyl, 1,000 cassettes, 1,138 downloads, 3,861 streaming]

Reminder - no First Look tonight, I'll keep an eye on the OCC site in case something arrives. If Radio 1 do happen to touch on First Look and anyone's listening, feel free to @ me x

Wow at The Chemical Brothers top 3! Don't think they'll stay that high, but it bodes well for Top 5 on Friday at least.

Looks like 'FEVER DREAM' has now gone to ACR. No idea how it got a streaming increase on the week prior to its 3 declines, unless there were some incorrect figures in the Music Week reports - really hope it wasn't an OCC error as that would have cost DARA a Top 20 place. Not sure what's happening with 'Homewrecker' either.
