I wouldn't expect a soundtrack single to impact the same way one of her lead singles would, but this seems to be getting a big push already with three CD variants (not out til the 19th... though watch them be shipped much sooner if needed lol). Hope the song's good!

Its Taylor just because they say they are shipped on 1 day doesnt mean they wont be shipped way early 🤣 especially since they are only "available for 48 hours or whilst stocks last"

Soundtrack singles by major artists are hit and miss when it comes to major success. I do think Taylor will score a hit but I think it’s more likely this is her campaign to getting an Oscar.

I think due to her star and name power it’ll do well on first week but the song quality will determine if it becomes a long running hit or not, she’s had hit or miss before with I don’t wanna live forever from 50 shades being a smash, but her hunger games ones and even Carolina from 2022 didn’t do great, but I’d say she is bigger then ever rn, bigger than she was when Carolina came out that’s for sure, and that only just made the top 100 as it was in between folklore- midnights where she was on the rise again in popularity

Yeah but this has had a weirdly massive cryptic campaign almost as big as when she announced TLOAS and TTPD campaigns,

As I seen on a post somewhere wouldnt be suprised if this is to shut up the fans whilst she gets married 🤣🤣

I have a feeling this is being used as a carry over for a debut Taylor’s version era, as that’s 20th anniversary is coming up in October and she did say she’d re recorded the whole thing and if it was what fans wanted and time was right she might release it

We know Team Taylor don’t accept 1 week at the top - it’s available from Friday and the CDs from the 19th (which they’ll move if they need too) but the fact they are not releasing on streaming and physicals in week 1 means they are planning on a multi week #1 and they are usually spot on with their planning to make it happen.

Album sales look decent this week, Freya at number 9 at this point of the week on almost 3,500, not sure how it will sell for the remainder of the week as i would assume she would be fairly front loaded so top 20 looks like a struggle.

Anyway, hypothetical Taylor speculation aside - wow at Boards Of Canada being midweek #2 and probably safe to stay at #3, I would absolutely never have called there being that level of interest in a comeback from them! (I see their last album did make #7 but they only had one top 40 album prior to that). Hope Paul can stay at #1 but might be close again?

Am I right in thinking that on the OCC page, in the Chart Update, last week’s chart position usually refers to last week’s Chart Update position?

I see that, at least for Fleetwood Mac who were still on ACR at this point last week, they have instead put last week’s final positions.

The chart update page now displays last Friday's chart positions but the chart history/peaks still show the update positions...
