Thought Vindaloo was more like Slade, being forgotten compared to more newly popular anthems like Wonderwall, Freed from Desire and Hey Jude.

Well, Vindaloo is in the Spotify UK chart today while Freed from Desire and Hey Jude aren't!

The last two are very specific to the current/recent teams, so won't stick around in the future I suspect.

Having said that searching now I haven't seen any new videos on youtube of England fans singing it.

Can see Wonderwall getting a huge boost tomorrow in the lead up to the game - the clip of the fans singing seems to be going viral on TikTok.

I don't think it's about the age of the song, it's about a song sticking there like plague. Wonderwall will not stay on SCR for 50 weeks.

Heck wonderwall has had a reset each of the last 3 years and hovers around for ages each time

I mean Wonderwall has charted for 105 weeks so far and made the Top 40 in 2024, 2025 and 2026 so certainly a chart hogger too.
