It's still up <10% from the same day last week so highly doubtful still. But looks like it may be top 40 this week regardless.

Will this be enough for the OCC to FINALLY reset Mr. Brightside?

Its a victim (in the loosest possible sense) of its own streaming success. People always stream it, so its figures are always high. So it never registers the % increase required.

A third day in a row that ‘Rein Me In’ is up on last week - by over 7%. Iconic!

Which is a shame because it deserves a much higher peak than #10, especially now that it's the most consumed song of all time thanks to the digital & streaming age.

I would use different words other than Iconic.

Definitely going to miss ACR this week as there are other versions too.

It may as well try to equal the 18 week record at this point.

It’s become a bit of an iconic part of this tournament. Like Norway rowing

It's up to a new peak of #17 in the US - and even #30 in Argentina!

well well well who was saying the football had no effect on Mr Brightside ? thinking

It’s quite strange how certain songs seem to get played at every game/hydration break - Mr Brightside/Titanium/Livin on a Prayer etc etc it’s like they are playing Hot Hots playlist from Spotify 😂

These things have a habit of looping back around algorithmically. You start to see/hear it more and think about it more in consequence (and then especially notice it the next time around). Unless there's more to it I've missed, look at the UK & Australia's reaction to Miley Cyrus's "Party In The U.S.A." last week. America blasts it because it's the 4th of July, and then two days later, we all start hearing/thinking about the song more and it inexplicably bounces up. More than ever, the chart just reflects what we're hearing, whether or not we're going out of our way to drive it.

That’s insane. I would never have guessed it would be doing well outside of the UK.

I wonder if an older song ever made it this high? Christmas songs aside. I guess maybe Running Up That Hill at the peak of its exposure on Stranger Things?
