Winning a euros is just not the same though. But yeah its a new manager who got them to a semi finals, at least, maybe 2030 is just our year

For a team that have not won anything for 60 years and have only won one major trophy in their history I'd take what I can get. Euros is certainly not something to be slept on and not something to assume will happen either.

12% of possession England had from the time they went ahead to the end of the game.

Commentators must mean in the modern era then. Have heard it said on ITV.

All easy to say in hindsight about this, that and the other. Momentum is a massive thing in football and it just was not with us today.

Thought we went too deep at times and the subs Tuchel made encouraged it. I'm not always sure the plan was tactical, but also was pretty clear we were leggy and tired and ultimately the World Cup is a squad game. Think we had too many of our players who aren't good enough or were half cooked and it meant we couldn't really get back in the game and build sustained pressure. Mainoo must be ansolutely hopeless in training.

Real shame as we had a massive opportuntity and I'm personally gutted - the Euros are just not the same as the World Cup.

The hope now is for the women to convert their euro wins into a world cup win next year

But when does the ‘modern era’ start?

Argentina are just the best come back team ever. When we scored wife said, "we're in the final now". I said "no, they'll win 2-1" They never ever give up....

I have no idea. Maybe 1970? You hear it a lot about tennis...

With how Argentina has been favoured and the dirty way they played, who would not be rooting for Spain to beat their asses

All you'd have to do is search on YouTube for celebrations of Spain, Italy and Portugal winning the Euros to see how major of an achievement that is. If England were to do that the whole country would lose their shit. Yeah it's not the same as a World Cup but it would still be a historic achievement and one that would not be easy to do.

England vs. France playoffs on Saturday to determine who is 3rd and who is 4th.

Do you actually get a bronze medal at the end of that game?

i'm happy how far we've come with this squad lol. if it was like 15-25 years ago i would've expected better kink

Will Mbappé, Dembélé, Bellingham and Kane even play in it or will the managers put their B teams on?

Use it as an opportunity to play in the overlooked players in the camp.

I'd go for something like this;

Henderson

Quansah

Challobah

Burn

Spence

Mainoo

Henderson

Eze

Saka

Watkins

Toney

Dunno if I care to watch that, I've never really seen the point of it, its not the Olympics where coming third still matters

i'm sure mbappe will play because he needs to win the golden boot
