Oh I do like “Domino” a lot, but generally I have a soft spot for Jessie. For me it has a really light and fresh feel to it.

Otherwise yes the will.i.am thing is fine but not very exciting. “Young” is pretty beige. I love Nneka’s “Heartbeat” but “RIP” is average.

'Domino' was definitely overplayed to buggery, but it's decent enough. For a second-rate 'Last Friday Night' (and I think the third-rate version is still to come)

'Domino' is great. I didn't like Jessie as a personality much but she did have some decent tunes amongst the crap.

Fully agree on the last 4. After that there are some songs in between which were not mentioned before. I quite enjoy R.I.P. and Payphone a bit, eventhough they are no big favourites of mine - R.I.P. might have been much better without that cheap autotune effects. Tulisa "Young" is quite enjoyable. Really enjoyed "This Is Love" this morning, the female vocals are banging and stuck in my head now. "Domino" is a BOP and just slightly misses my Top 3. Let's see what's coming next.. Overall, 2012 has great #1's and I enjoy all songs up to #27.

Domino I did like more at the time than I do now, and it is one of Jessie's stronger efforts. I wouldn't skip it if it came on now but probably wouldn't actively play it.

Young definitely isn't a favourite, would be bottom ten for me I'm sure. Found it quite an average example of club pop that was simply a success due to Tulisa's profile at the time and not due to the song being anything spectacular.

Prob her best single until the recent California for me, but I got sick of hearing it at the time and it still only peaked at 58 in my charts. My faves so far still Candy, Payphone, Sing and the rest I can take or leave, except James Arthur, very much Leave that one.

There were a number of songs in this list that I’d forgotten about, some of which were easy to remember and a select few that brought back no memory whatsoever, and this Ne-Yo entry certainly fits the latter of those two. It was his fourth entirely solo number one (as well as his feature on Pitbull's Give Me Everything), hitting the top spot every two years – following So Sick in 2006, Closer in 2008 and Beautiful Monster in 2010, but it feels like Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself) is comfortably the least memorable of them.

Each of Ne-Yo’s #1 singles sound fairly different, with each definitely being more in tune with what were the current trends of the time, So Sick a decent enough R&B song, Closer his best effort that had moved style with the likes of Rihanna, and 2010s Beautiful Monster being more for the dancefloors with more of an EDM influence.

Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself) is very much of the 2012 trends with another upbeat dancefloor hit, with influential producers Stargate involved along with Sia contributing to some of the lyrics, but perhaps coming a little late in the context of this type of song, as it just kind of exists, it doesn’t offend in any way but there’s nothing to help it standout from the plethora of other similar sounding hits, whereas his contribution to Pitbull’s Give Me Everything a year earlier helped it become one of the deserving smash hits of this period. Let Me… I’d rank as the weakest of his number one singles, entirely forgettable.

Two 2012 talent show judges falling in a row as she was part of the inaugural panel for The Voice U.K. this year! That first winner Leanne Mitchell (or any of their champions...) not quite having the same career as James Arthur.

That Ne-Yo song doesn't do anything for me sadly, pretty clunky. At least it's an interesting fact that he was a writer for both Mario's 'Let Me Love You' and his own 'Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)'. I agree this is his weakest chart topper.

Didn't mind that then but it's pretty disposable from Ne-Yo. His least best #1 I would agree too.

Let Me Love You is kind of a throwback early 00s eurotrance production from Stargate but with the beat not as hard in places. I didn't appreciate that production in the 00s but did like in 2012.

I wasn't a massive fan of the vocal of the song such as the strained chorus but it is nostalgic now as with most Ne Yo.

This fits well to my ranking of that song which is currently #26, but may be one place lower depending on the Non-Spotify one. Quite exchangeable song from Ne-Yo, nothing really stands out.

I had totally forgotten that Ne Yo song existed, but oddly I know it in my head. Weird.

That's interesting about the Mario song, always quite liked that. I did think with its similarity of title and style to some of Ne-Yo's work, whether some would expect to hear from "Ne-Yo - Let Me Love You..."

Radio 2 a few years ago did a chart of the best selling Motown label records of all time, Let Me Love You was top 5 and must have sounded jarring after the more retro orchestral songs in the list.

I agree 'Coming With You' is a cooler Ne-Yo track and more reflective of his Motown label.

I really can’t find anything much to like in Let Me Love You, it just seems to blend in with loads of songs from that era. I guess your ranking of it will be about the same as mine in the end.
