Good to see Charli xcx's 'Camera' managing another day in the Spotify chart also (#105) - really rooting for it to make the top 40. 🖤

  • a niche queen managing to land her entire album on the Spotify chart is considered dreadful? 😭 BRAT was an accidental phenomenon, the extent of its commercial success obviously wasn't gonna be replica

Oh bore off you have no idea what you’re talking about   Give the album a listen. I don’t think you get it at all. The music is extremely personal and vulnerable

AHHH! So ready for this to be her breakthrough moment, it was always gonna happen at some point. The star quality is too strong for it to not happen.

ADÉLA! Yeeeessss. Hopefully that means there is momentum for it to keep climbing and make the top 40 over the next couple of weeks or so!

I'm hopeful it will! Pretty sure it's had a better hold than Rock Music did on Spotify and that made the Top 40.

You're right, just refreshed my memory and 'Rock Music' went 29 -> 140 -> OUT! So this has already managed an extra consecutive day.

Turns out Animal was uncombined on Apple - it’s now combined & up to #59

Cmon camera stay top 40 official , be such a shame if rock music is the only top 40 SS26 and Wink Wink were so much more deserving

I think vinyls made the difference with Rock Music making top 40! Vinyls for Camera only ship next week

That’s true but brat was her commercial peak so it’s hard for artists to maintain that for every single following release especially 2 years post brat, and this era has also been a lot more low-key and has had less hype surrounding it imo so all things considered I think it’s a fairly good debut

I would argue that the album after the commercial peak would be the one to have extra fans and sales due to its predecessors success but suppose that’s not always the case.

The Javine Hylton to KATSEYE’s Girls Aloud.

This is a bit more than usual but it pretty much always does at least 70-80k a day during off season

"Snowman" by Sia actually performs the best for Christmas songs on most days (including yesterday) (I did a bsky post about it last year)

I'd agree usually but I think Charli's a different case, because the Wuthering Heights soundtrack happened in the interim, no doubt taking some of the hype away from this era as a "comeback", and she released one of the most divisive songs on the album as its lead single...!

and not to mention how this era has been so weirdly branded, i think its meant to just display her insecurities being in the limelight but rock music, ss26 and wink wink didnt convey that at all. It’s just been a messy cycle that could easily be fixed too and thats the annoying part

The Adéla song reminds me in parts of Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop, a song I really didn't like in 2013! It's a better song than it though.

I dont mind the christmas in July campaign I just wish they'd choose a better song for it 🤣

I would prefer a Tiktok revival of the song 'Winter In July'.
