Decent enough album can see myself going back to it regularly i cant see it not tanking though

Just feels like theres no hype around it outside of this forum,

Something beautiful performed badly and that had hype

Why has it all felt so rushed?

It’s a decent album and I like Bass Persuades more in the context of it - it sets the album up well and it’s got a cool soundscape but much like how I felt with Bass Persuades initially, I think the production of some of these songs feel a bit flat or they don’t live up the strong melodies which stunts the song from reaching the heights that it should.

It wouldn’t surprise me if she got a bit of a viral moment out of Let’s Get Married though, it’s got that kind of feeling about it and it’s probably the only thing that sounds like a hit.

it's fine I guess, definitely weaker than Something Beautiful but better than Endless Summer Vacation (even if ESV was more coherent as an album). she could've got away with just dropping the title track and Different Religion (maybe Let's Get Married and Innocent Ways too to make an EP out of it), they're much stronger and tonally different compared to the rest of the album.

Miley doesn't ever really make a good album so it's not a surprise that this is all over the place - saying that there's deff some good songs here (as always with her).The remix does not need to be there as it adds nothing.

Something Beautiful was absolutely a good album though? (Plastic Hearts was decent enough as an overall album too)

There's something in the mixing on Something Beautiful that I might quite harsh... saying that I loved Lockdown, End of the World, Reborn & Walk of Fame.

The song she wanted Beyonce to do is almost career low. I can see why Beyonce declined that one.

Other than Plastic Hearts, she really does struggle to stick the landing for a full album. Like why was I bored and felt like it was a slog when it’s a 9 track album😭

I would say she'd be better off dropping EPs but then I remembered her only non-Hollywood Records EP is SHE IS COMING so maybe not...

I really enjoy the album. Highlights for me aside from the title track are "Different Religion", "Orbit" & "Aftermath". "Snow" is great too and "Let's Get Married" is a solid B ("Jaded" being an A and "Angels Like You" S-tier). "Innocent Ways" I can see growing on me quickly.

I will say I don't like "Neon Signs". The production is brilliant (the album's production is really great overall) and there are some nice moments in the song but I hate the moaning/whispering/talking parts that I can't listen to the song.

My main issue with the album is its length. Essentially a 9-track album, although thankfully the song lengths are 3-4 minutes. I think the album needs another 2-3 songs to complete it. I'll make a playlist to remove the "Bass Persuades" remix and "Neon Signs".

I heard the physical-exclusive "Smile" - why is this an exclusive and not part of the album!? It's quite good and would be better than a remix of "Bass Persuades". Hopefully they'll add it to streaming services.

I'm hoping they'll release a deluxe with more tracks, although not mid-week as I hate that tactic.

Miley really isn’t an album artist is she? The entire album is a snoozefest and filled with C-list fillers. The only saving grace on the album that’s salvageable is ‘Different Religion’.

I’m away this weekend so haven’t really been able to listen to this as much as I would’ve liked but it got one run through in the car yesterday and it was… pleasant enough I guess.

Innocent Ways seemed like an instant favourite though, and maybe Redlights?

The 2 questionable ones were Neon Signs and Snow. Different Religion didn’t really sound like my kinda thing either.

Overall, it doesn’t seem to be a patch on Something Beautiful but we’ll see how my opinions change over the coming weeks!

I feel like I’m in a minority with Miley as she almost always delivers with me on an albums front (if anything her album tracks tend to be stronger than her singles).

I enjoyed Different Religion, Orbit, and Aftermath the most on initial listens. I hope this does something or has something go viral - it really is good and deserves some attention. She’s genuinely so talented and a great vocalist (and versatile too) such star quality!! I think live performances are where she comes alive so hopefully we get some of those.

I really like the majority of Miley's albums. The only one I don't care for is Dead Petz. And Younger Now/Bangerz are a bit meh outside the singles

Can’t Be Tamed, Plastic Hearts and Something Beautiful are almost all completely skipless for me. Definitely my holy trinity of Miley albums!

I love this album. The only 2 tracks not doing much for me atm are 'Snow' and 'Let's Get Married'. Everything else is great though.

'Bass Persuades' up to 'Innocent Ways' in my ranking are.. *chef's kiss*! SO DAMN GOOD. 'Aftermath' just continues to grow and grow! 'REDLIGHTS' has a very 70's/Fleetwood Mac-lite vibe to it. 'Different Religion' is growing on me and 'Neon Signs' is solid.

Have only heard the two singles so far. Bass persuades I liked a bit in the beginning but it went really boring after more listens. Let’s get married I played 5-6 times so far and it’s really a great pop song - so much better than the title track from this album. Hope the other tracks are more like this.

A bit underwhelming on first listen but Something Beautiful took a good few listens to grow on me so I'm not writing it off just yet. The production is great though. I think 'Let's Get Married' and 'Redlights' were the only two that instantly stood out.

It's a little lower than Something Beautiful taking into account number of tracks. Although one of the album tracks is just a remix, when taking this out of the equation it's on par.

It's a shame her Spotify numbers aren't larger given the good playlist support. Hoping one of the songs may take off on TikTok or something.

On the discussion of her being an album artist or not, I'd say since Plastic Hearts she absolutely has been. Endless Summer Vacation I will defend until the end of time, it is one of my absolute favourite albums of the past decade and sonically it sounds like a complete package. As does Something Beautiful but I don't think it has the huge highs of the former.

This album is good! I think it is the weakest of the previous few and has even fewer highs but there is a lot that interests me throughout. 'Aftermath' is brilliant for example and I really enjoy 'Innocent Ways' too.
