I've been trying since the day I saw them on Jools (admittedly a bit behind the curve since I watched on iPlayer)... all their UK shows fully sold out. Even had a look at some overseas ones, also sold out!

A guitar band with this much buzz around them in the 00s would have had a couple of top 10 singles by now!

I do wonder if she'll be able to challenge for #1 next week with a full week and "Rein Me In" going to ACR. I assume Friday/the weekend will have various tribute shows broadcasting for Dolly.

Would be fantastic to see dolly chart high but do we think she can do enough with only 2 and a half days ?

I really hope 🙏 would be fantastic for her to finally get a 3rd top 40 and more recognition she deserves the higher the better 🤞

I think Dolly will have a similar impact to Tina Turner/Ozzy Osbourne, depending on how long the tributes last we may see a bigger impact next week.

The shows in tribute have started tonight on Sky Arts and BBC 1

I think people are underestimating how huge Dolly's death and legacy is. It's the lead and dominating news item on every news programme and channel this evening as she was not only a singer but a cultural icon for half a century. This week's chart will only capture slightly over 2 days but I can see next week becoming very evident. Her songs have found a lot of favour in the streaming era, particularly Jolene, 9 to 5 , Islands In The Stream and I Will Always Love You(which she penned). I predict she will be way more impactful than Tina or Ozzy and definitely moreso than Bonnie on next week's charts. It wouldn't surprise me if I Will Always Love You (due to its poignant goodbye lyrics) could be the song that resonates most with the general public and chart highest over the next week. It'll be interesting to see....

I genuinely think Dolly will be challenging for number 1 next week. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see her in the top 3 in albums too!

it's 4xPlatinum in digital-era unit sales (since 2007) - not sure about its earlier sales but we'll probably get more detailed totals in the Music Week sales report on Friday

Do we think dolly will do enough to get any songs top 40 on Friday? Or too late in the week now and maybe just outside?

It said on one of the news outlets this morning that 9 to 5 is one of the biggest selling non top 40 hits. But that’s all the detail they gave.

I think back then even though 9 to 5 was a US Number One hit, songs didnt always translate as well in different markets and you had many instances of No. 1s in USA not charting at all in UK and vice versa. Promotion was staggered with release dates of singles up to a year apart in differentcountries or not done at all based on artist availability. Now with streaming, every hit becomes a global hit almost simultaneously depending on how the streaming sites playlist it. 1981 was in the full swing New Romantic era too and country music may have been considered naff or uncool at the time in UK. Also maybe the film it was associated with didnt perform as well over here as in the States(a great movie by the way!). Quite a few legacy songs as we know have done way better in the streaming era than they ever did during original release.

I hope there’s some more interest in Dolly’s Christmas music this year! A Christmas to Remember and Hard Candy Christmas deserve to be classics
