The Laine version, of course, was also previously the single to spend most weeks at No.1 until Rein Me In.There will be no 24th week at No.1 for Rein Me In, however – after escaping numerous times, Rein Me In will enter ACR next week, and the value of its sales-equivalent streams will be halved. On the 10th week of its fourth run at No.1, its 35th consecutive week in the Top 10, and 62nd straight week in the Top 40, its consumption dips 2.98% to 40,241 units (522 digital downloads and 39,719 sales-equivalent streams), its lowest level for 28 weeks, and the lowest for a No.1 for 59 weeks.Its runner-up for the last five weeks, Dai Dai by Shakira & Burna Boy, has already entered ACR, hence its tumble to No.15 (15,670 adjusted sales) this week.Replacing Dai Dai as champion-elect, Movin’ To The Sun by Hugel, Imael Angel & Ultra Naté is a little flattered by its 4-2 jump, which comes with a minuscule 1.18% increase in consumption week-on-week to 26,108 units. The debut hit for Hugel and Angel, it now surpasses Free – No.4 in 1997 – to become the highest-charting song for Ultra Naté. While Stella Lefty’s introductory album, Long Way Home, fails to penetrate the Top 75 on its first frame, her breakthrough single, Boston, continues to proper, moving 5-4 (23,902 sales) to reach a new peak.After stalling at No.7 last week, Sienna Spiro’s Great Expectation also gets a new peak, moving to No.5 (23,516 sales). Her only previous Top 10 hit, Die On This Hill – No.9 earlier this year – climbs for the third straight week, advancing 15-14 (16,000 sales), while the previously ‘starred out’ Pure debuts at No.40 (9,179 sales), becoming the highest of this week’s four debuts, and replacing Material Lover as her third hit under primary artist rules. The announcement of Dolly Parton’s death on Tuesday (August 25) triggered massive media coverage and an explosion in consumption of her back catalogue. Despite the fact that much of the week had elapsed by then, the impact was such that two of her recordings re-enter the Top 15 – Jolene (No.9, 17,790 sales) and Kenny Rogers duet Islands In The Stream (No.13, 16,248 sales) - while 9 To 5 (No.12, 16,518 sales) reaches that chart segment for the first time. Her first three hits, and her only songs to make the Top 50, they are also her most-consumed songs in the digital era. A 1973 recording that reached No.7 in 1976, Jolene has to-date consumption of 2,127,139 units; No.47 in 1981, 9 To 5 is her top track with to-date consumption of 2,433,372 units; and No.7 in 1983, Islands In The Stream has to-date consumption of 2,195,255 units.Their multi-platinum status places them far ahead of any other Parton recordings, with Here You Come Again (497,690 units) and I Will Always Love You (453,162 units) completing the top five. All were handed a reset this week, with primary artist rules denying Here You Come Again and I Will Always Love You chart placings, despite consumption of 10,111 and 10,874 units, respectively. Parton’s sixth most popular title in the week, Coat Of Many Colors, the poignant title track of a 1971 album, was not reset despite unadjusted consumption of 8,014 units. Overall consumption of tracks by Parton increased 734.92% week-on-week from 18,573 units to 155,069 units. The OCC database contains 993 recordings by Parton, and although it is a rich and deep catalogue, Jolene, 9 To 5 and Islands In The Stream account for more than all the rest together in the post-1994 Kantar (Millward Brown) era, accounting for a disproportionate 58.10% of her overall consumption. A No.4 hit when first released in 2024, Training Season by Dua Lipa has been gaining new traction on social media for the last month, and returns to the chart at No.53 (8,277 sales) after escaping ACR. it should get a boost from the release today (August 28) of a new digital EP, Training Season’s Over, which gathers together five previously released versions of the song, including her much-vaunted Live From Royal Albert Hall version. With a to-date tally of 960,017 units, Training Season is her 16th most-consumed track.
