The record company filmed a video to a daft punk remix which is not very good. This could be one of the reasons why it underperformed.

I know some members thought this song should have been vetoed , thanks to the mods it wasnt :). Some songs in this contest were hits in many countries…

I finished last in that spin-off so I expect as a defense mechanism my mind wiped my entire memory of that contest 😂

This is the compilation I heard The Lion on more recently (forgetting it wasn't for the first time...) If anybody wants a deep dive into the slightly more commercial side of world music, you can pick it up for cheap.

I'm building up to it 😄I'm going to be away galavanting on a touring holiday in the Baltics and then beaches in Spain for most of September, so wouldnt be able to listen to music much (I will have withdrawal symptoms!). Mid-october onwards might be do-able though 👍

Talking of forgetting stuff, I forgot I'd heard The Lion on that album - yes I bought One World on CD chocka with great World Music tracks, holding it in my hands right this moment, and with some of my past BJSC entries in Mory Kante (Ye Ke Ye Ke), Bally Sagoo (a different track, this one is hit Dil Cheez), and 3 I got beaten to in Ofra Haza, Monsoon, Ryuichi Sakamoto. There's still Deep Forest, Hugh Masekela, Sacred Spirit, Incantation, Gypsy Kings as future options though.... 🙂

The Sacred Spirit song was sent to BJSC already.
