I mean, the public is very much ready to support new stuff from big artists. It's just that the new stuff isn't that good or exciting, so they freefall, and in their places are the same old stale hits – that has been the story for 2026 and was the story for most of 2025, but I do think there is a lack of willingness to fully support new artists or to make songs truly viral right now. Think: when was the last time we had a truly monstrous hit from TikTok?

Sadly is the comfort of streaming sites.

I used to love listening for new music, I would listen to the radio way more than I did and wouldn't miss the charts so I would hear the new songs entering and moving around the chart.

Now i'm totally guilty of falling behind with new releases and listening to stuff I have been listening to for years. I'm actively trying to get back into listening to the chart weekly now to catch myself up a bit.

Glad to see Noah with a couple of top 40 entries, is Orbiter an official single does anyone know? The Great Divide is turning into a bit of a slow burn of an album, its had pretty consistent sales units for weeks now, Olivia R is also holding up really well too, I don't think its dropped below 10k for a weekly sale yet.

Orbiter is currently being pushed as a single in the US to Pop airplay (they've been pushing Doors concurrently to Alternative formats) - don't think it's had an official push over here yet, but it's streamed pretty consistenly well since the album's release

Now Yearbook 1971 CD sales up slightly on 1972 which is interesting. Maybe a few people who only usually buy the vinyl bought it instead while they wait for that, as it was delayed.

Interesting to see the top six singles like that, declining in the 1k bracket by each position at the top from 26k to 21k. The pattern almost continues for the whole top ten but we're missing something in the 20k bracket!
