Are we thinking Choosin’ Texas is settling in for another extended number one, it seems to be mirroring what happened to Rein Me In a lot?

It usually climbs during the week, its best platforms are a day behind.

No Sienna will get there I'm sure.

Its sales are quite low for a #1 and it's due to hit ACR soon, but no new music seems to be breaking through lately so it's very hard to say at this point.

The difference being RMI was actually still increasing sales , Ella is kinda only just number 1 by default as nothing else seems to be doing anything

No one's mentioned it in the video game discussion, but "Trigger" by Major Lazer & Khalid, and "Ludens" by Bring Me The Horizon were specifically released as singles from the soundtrack to "Death Stranding" and just snuck into the chart at #95 & #75 respectively.

No. Its teetering on decline. I think there was a push last week to get her to number 1 but prior she'd been hovering around the same sales numbers and inching to decline.

We desperately need something big to come along and be an actual definitive #1! The state of things is so dire.

And just like that we get a Dannii Minogue single announcement - coming to save the UK charts cheeseblock

Some others:

Ed Sheeran's Celestial from Pokemon Scarlet & Violet got to #6 in 2022.

Post Malone's cover of 'I Only Wanna Be With You' also got to #76. It wasn't directly from a video game, but was made as part of Pokemon's 25th anniversary campaign and features samples from the games.

Rosa Walton from Let's Eat Grandma's 'I Really Want to Stay at Your House' from Cyberpunk 2077 got to #68 in 2022.

BTS and Charli xcx's 'Dream Glow' (#61) was for the soundtrack to a BTS mobile game.

M2M's seminal 2000 hit Don't Say You Love Me (as seen on the TOTP repeats last week) was also from the first Pokémon movie.

Leona Lewis' #145 smash "My Hands" was the official soundtrack song to Final Fantasy XIII. Also part of her album Echo

This song is what started my binge into Let's Eat Grandma - such a great indie/pop duo. It's also a great/catchy song which I would always listen to whilst driving around in Cyberpunk 2077.

As a note, the song didn't chart due to the video game. It charted after going viral with its use in the Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners which is based on the same world as the game.

wish it was one of her better songs rather than a passable 'thank, u next'-era Ariana rip - SexOnTheBeat deserved

no literally. even if from this era, ‘Boys’ deserved. But even then, i believe she scrapped that one as a single for Ain't In LA

First Brittany Murphy, now Nicole Kidman, which Happy Feet star is next to have a song named after them this year? Miriam Margolyes?

Of the handful I have heard, that's by far the best!
