Of course it'd be hilarious for it and the Ella Langley single to be rivalling each other in the Top 10.. a la the X Files in 1996 and I Found Lovin and When I Fall in Love in 1987.

Biography

Kevin Parker spends months (or years) at a time tinkering away in his home studio, playing every instrument and singing every part on his self-produced albums as Tame Impala. Yet he gets the most satisfaction from taking those creations out on the road, as he told Apple Music in 2025: “Being on tour, there’s no other activity in my life that gives me such a sense of purpose.” Of course, Parker has always contained multitudes. Let’s not forget that he transformed psychedelic rock—and 21st-century pop—in such an impactful way that even Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Kanye couldn’t resist his influence. Parker started Tame Impala in 2007 from his Perth home, experimenting with an arsenal of reverb, phaser, delay and fuzz pedals on his 2010 debut album InnerSpeaker. For 2012’s Lonerism, he loaded up on synths, found inspiration in Todd Rundgren and locked into woozy pop grooves made of both dreams and nightmares. As Parker has looked further inward, his music—and musical circle—has continued to expand outward. By the mid-2020s, he had collaborated with Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson and Lady Gaga. Parker has remained a unique outlet, embracing widescreen funk (2015’s Currents), mid-thirties introspection (2020’s The Slow Rush) and elegiac techno (2025’s “End of Summer”). He’s also proven his pop instincts over and over again, as when he spiked his fatherhood-inspired 2025 album Deadbeat with a breakout earworm in “Dracula”. The song’s later success as a viral remix (featuring BLACKPINK’s JENNIE) and dance trend only confirm that Parker’s work enjoys a long lifespan once he’s done with it—both onstage and off. - Apple Music

quite the flop for Drake to miss the top 20 with the much-hyped Choosin Texas flip (good)

I'd argue that this and the actual Ella Langley single in the Top 40 is like the 1996 scenario of The X Files' versions - Mark Snow and DJ Dado in the Top 10.

Biography

Noah Kahan pens tender-hearted meditations on life’s ups and downs that are rustic enough for country cabins yet infectious enough for the pop charts. The singer-songwriter was born in 1997 and grew up on a farm in Vermont. He spent his youth refining his folk picking on guitar, banjo and mandolin while transforming his voice into the raspy falsetto captured on his debut hit, 2017’s “Hurt Somebody”. Recorded while bouncing between New York, LA and points in between, Kahan’s first two full-lengths, 2019’s Busyhead and 2021’s I Was / I Am, showcase an artist sharpening his pop instincts. When the COVID pandemic hit in 2020, Kahan returned to Vermont and—feeling nostalgic for his New England childhood—stripped his music to its gritty soul, resulting in 2022’s breakout album, Stick Season. Its viral title track later took Kahan all the way to the big time (thanks, in part, to an Olivia Rodrigo cover in 2023) and he went on to reimagine several Stick Season cuts—including a version of “Dial Drunk” featuring rapper Post Malone—that reflect a gift for shaping folk and pop into increasingly novel expressions. Kahan might have been a changed man after Stick Season, but on 2026 follow-up The Great Divide, he got back to doing what he does best: penning small-town stories with searing honesty that root themselves in your head and heart. “Stick Season is like doing shrooms and thinking you understand the entire world,” he told Apple Music. “The Great Divide is like three months later: ‘That was great and that was helpful but there’s a lot more we gotta figure out still.’” - Apple Music

Apparently Loser is the best Tame Impala song, straight from Kevin Parker's mouth 😲

Yay Noah!

The second of the three Noah Kahan tracks. I hope that Draw You Out retains its top 15 position.

Biography

Olivia Rodrigo recognises that the yearning, melancholy aspect of her love songs is key to their intense emotional appeal—beginning with 2021’s weepy smash, “drivers license”. “I think that grounds it in something real,” she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in 2026, “and that’s why we resonate with those types of songs so much.” Born in 2003 in Murrieta, California, Rodrigo juggled childhood lessons in piano, voice and acting before starring in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and eventually turning to pop music with an abashed passion for seething ’90s alt-rock. Rodrigo was only 18 when she released her debut album, SOUR, a breakup record with a meticulous rage: “Where’s my f***ing teenage dream?” she wondered on “brutal”, the album’s Elastica-recalling opener. GUTS followed in 2023, with Rodrigo and repeat producer/collaborator Dan Nigro placing her pointillistic lyrics in an expanded sonic palette that incorporated influences from off-kilter ’90s acts like The Breeders and B******e Surfers. In the same 2026 interview, she described each of her albums as a journey of self-discovery—including that year’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. Observing that it’s the first album she’d made as a woman in her twenties, Rodrigo hinted at how she traded angst for joy on several tracks. But even then, there should still be enough visceral realism to keep fans poring over every lyrical detail. - Apple Music
