according to Wikipedia they apparently digitally released remixes of the single a week before the full single release, hence why it surged to #1 from #35

Thanks for explaining that, as I couldn't remember how that happened

How did that happen? Different physical/digital release dates?

Yes - downloads were allowed to be released a week before the physical release at that time, so its #35 position was downloads alone.

Wasn't expecting for Kylie and Madonna to show up in the first look

Finally Radio 1 are playing the Kylie version!

The best version and the version that made it chart.

11 Fontaines D.C. - Mimesis

tracks could actually chart solely on downloads by the time About You Now was released in September 2007 - the first chart week of 2007 saw download-only titles become chart-eligible without physical releases!

I've been out all day. Just got back to hear top 10.

Hadn't realised it was that early, curious decision to stagger it then, you'd think they'd have wanted maximum impact in week 1! (not that it harmed it obviously)

Shame where is gone looks like it will be starred out this week, mimesis is a great track though! Hope all 3 Fontaines songs are as high as possible come Friday

MIMESIS

this song is f***ing excellent.

Fontaines are fine but they never put anything out that is particularly groundbreaking. Still, good to see rock music in the chart regardless

'Mimesis' is fantastic! That bass is so New Order.

Great album I must admit probably the best track on the album along with Madeline
