October 23, 200718 yr Why are so many people hailing Leona!!?, it's all the way through this blasted thread!!!. Her next album will bomb anyway.
October 23, 200718 yr  Spoil sport :P Well, if there was good stuff in the correct positions, then I'd stick by it. Couldn't have picked a better time what with the way the chart show is now run. Edited October 23, 200718 yr by Marcus

October 23, 200718 yr 2007 has been a lot more rock/indie orientated than 1999. Dont even compare. I wish we could have 1999 back... It was a dreadful year. Talented artists getting ignored as if they didn't exist. But getting back on topic, are Hard-Fi still in the chart? :). Thanks in advance! Edited October 23, 200718 yr by Marcus
October 23, 200718 yr 1999 was probably the 2nd best, after 2000. But then you cant argue with tastes. I for one, hate Hard-Fi and all the indie bands, so i'd gladly go back to the pop era.
October 23, 200718 yr Well, charts arn't everything. These proper bands write and record their own material, but most pop rubbish like Leona has it all done for her by a songwriting team. Wouldn't have minded if she wrote her own songs. The OCC are donig a really good job with the chart, it isn't their fault that people are buying rubbish and two clowns who killed TOTP are in charge of the chart show.

Wouldn't have minded if she wrote her own songs. Do your research :P She's said in interviews etc that she was heavily involved in the writing process of the album.

We get that you dont like pop music, you dont have to write it in every post.
October 24, 200718 yr Errr yeah as Jark said, Leona actually does write her own songs and her songwriting skills are to be showcased on every(!) track on the album. Well those that aren't covers, and I hear there's 2 covers, so yeah all of them but the covers.
October 24, 200718 yr 2007 has been a lot more rock/indie orientated than 1999. Dont even compare. I wish we could have 1999 back... I have to agree with you Skyzzo...I have fond memories of 1999's music...it was a time where people didn't care if they were cheesy. Same Difference on X Factor appear to be the only 2 people left in the music industry that don't care if they are cheesy...Fast forward to 2007 and we have tons of pop songs masquerading as indie clogging up the charts because pop isn't cool anymore...still, it won't be long before indie falls back out of fashion as we all know nothing lasts forever... Of course the dominating force in 2007 has not been pop or indie but American R & B...I feel that in 1999 we had a perfect amount of it, perhaps 1 or 2 songs in the top 10 each week. Now it seems that the UK has turned into the US at times with a few weeks back 7 American acts in the top 10...in 1999 we had a lot more diversity...more European acts in the top 10. Thank god for Robyn and Fedde Le Grand! On a separate note...I hope Leona takes Bleeding Love over to the US to launch her career and that its a No.1 single :D
October 24, 200718 yr  The Stardust film has been a relative flop and the song is not played anywhere during the film - It only starts getting played at almost the end of the credits so i think it has had very little impact tbh :P I agree with you there actually...I don't think Stardust has had a major effect on this single...more the fact that its a good quality song and a brand new non-album song from (arguably) the UK's biggest band

October 24, 200718 yr Dear CHER, Mcfly being top3 is just as awful as a potential new Cheeky Girls' song! Couldn't find any other comparison lol xD
October 24, 200718 yr Wednesday Update is in, McFly Top 3, please be patient, while I edit Britney down even further
October 24, 200718 yr On a separate note...I hope Leona takes Bleeding Love over to the US to launch her career and that its a No.1 single :D Do you realy think that Will happen? I mean none of the other UK Pop Idol/X Factor acts have done well in the states :P
