Katie Melua's album 'Pictures' is one of my favourite albums of 2007, actually my favourite album of the year and am surprised it didn't sell more but hopefully this will boost it because it is an amazing album.

 

I hope they stay number 1 and can get good sales after all it's for charity and bout time some body knocked that leona off number 1 which is driving me mad now though I loved it at first.

 

Shame that it's just sold through TESCO's though because I've either gotta give my bank details to TESCO or buy a CD, it should have been put on iTunes aswell

Mariah and the Pogues will rise up, and the current number 1 I reckon will drop like a stone after today, I reckon it'll end up in the lower end of the top 10 by sunday

I don't see why people think it has a dis-advantage of being sold at tesco only - there's probably 20x more people that walk into a tesco every day than a hmv or whatnot, and a lot more likely to pick up a single that's not just for charity, but has a housewives favourite and a legend singing on it.

 

Don't underestimate D: It's just like in the US a few weeks ago when the Eagles managed #1 when they were only being stocked in Wal-Mart

Agreed. It really is a fantastic album and as good as her previous two.

True, christmas should be about family not charts. But then some people aren't fortunate to have family, but anyway i digress

Christmas shouldn't only be about being with famlies. I rather spend it away with some people in my family I'd rather avoid.

I hate most of her songs too. "Mary Pickford (Used to Eat Roses)", "If You Were A Sailboat" and "9 Million Bicycles in Beijing". She has apparently had a dig at Amy Winehouse because of her poor behaviour. If anyone was "off their head" when song writing it's her with her random songs. :teresa:

 

I do, however, like this duet and I'll be happy if this gets to #1. It's better than being knocked off the top by Rap or an animated Sheep like I was expecting.

she never said that drughouse was off her head when writing just that she's off her head most of the time and its a bad example. Its also true and Katie has every right to state it.

Not a fan of Katie Melua...at all infact, but i'm glad she's #1. At least there's a bit of festivity at #1 for once! :lol: I doubt her and Eva Cassidy will be de-throned from the top now, maybe only Soulja Boy, or if the X-Factor download is released sometime Saturday evening.
