 Shocker of the year (!)

Like Aly said, it was inevitable. Debut single didnt do amazingly well, and i dont think a second single was ever released. Mr Cowell is getting tough :o

LOL X Factor isn't doing very well at record deal careers. First Leon then Same Difference what next Eoghan or Rydian

Definitely Eoghan

Definitely Eoghan

I really hope he does just as well... :P

Shame about SD, but it was expected. I still think Turn It Into Love could have been huge if promoted though.

Still makes me laugh that Same Difference lasted longer than Leon

I would rather listen to We Are One 5 times in a row, than Don't Call This Love. But, thats not the point, it was gonna happen sooner or later. Not bothered really.

Well they didn't really. Their name was removed from the SonyBMG website months ago along with Andrew Johnston the 'Britain's Got Talent' choir boy. Syco have just staggered the announcements to try and make it look less embarrassing I suppose. And their album was released in December - dropped in April, Leon released in October - dropped in March.

 They can't do this!!!

I thought Pop sold quite a bit??? (i.e. 200,000+)

We R one was AMAZING :( I don't own Pop but will be purchasing it in protest

i always knew they wouldnt last and it was enivitable they would get dropped eventually but i thought the first album did quite well and thought they would at least manage to release a 2nd album, simon should realise he needs to put more effort into acts that he signs up, when acts do well its a good representation for him and show with him dropping people so quick its actually damamging him
Well, I saw the signs

Yes the signs were there.

You always know if a Syco website hasn't been updated for more than about 10 days they're on their way out. Next Syco act to be dropped George Sampsom I think although they might wait until the next Britain's Got Talent. I suppose they might give him one more song to 'perform' on this year's series, other than that he must be on his way.

Next after that Shayne Ward I think (unfortunately) - with a third album that looks unlikely to see the light of day. Perhaps they'll wait until Alexandra and Leona's albums are out and doing well, and then quietly 'let him go'.

shayne ward career has been such a slow pace i mean he is aronund nearly 4 years i think and has only had 5 singles and 2 albums, although i do think he will get a third album as i think both of his albums sold well, the main probelm is the gap in releases is far far too long

Shayne has done pretty well so far so I doubt he'll get dropped. Its nice to see someone from X-Factor who can do more than overwarbled ballads. Eventually, every X-Factor contestant will be trying to be Leona or Alexandra.
Lol at how this isn't surprising in the least bit.

Yes perhaps i was being unduly pessimistic about Shayne. But they really need to get a move on with his next album.

I think Leona has been so successful because of the involvement of the American label as will Alexandra probably. I'm not convinced that Syco on their own are particularly good and marketing and developing contemporary pop stars. They're OK on ballads (Westlife) and popera (Il Divo, Rhydian) but not much else. But we'll see. Shayne does have the potential but they need to get the songs right and improve his promotion.
