The 4 highest new entries would all reach the top 2 before the end of April. Girlfriend was the first song to get to #2 just on downloads and then miss #1 when physically released (Adele – Chasing Pavements has done it since). The Fray finally reached a new peak of #4 in their 12th week on the chart, having previously spent a total of 5 weeks at #5. The following week would see the same 10 songs in the top 10 – but in a totally different order (Mark Ronson, Timbaland & Beyonce would all climb, and everybody else would fall). Arctic Monkeys were also a non-mover at #11 the following week. Proclaimers would fall to #4 (but stay #1 on the physical chart). 9 of the 12 new entries in the top 40 (all bar My Chemical Romance, Erasure, and Little Man Tate) were charting just on downloads – although Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip did not get any higher than #34 (it moved 34-46-41-68). I Don’t Love You was the lowest charting of the 4 singles from their Black Parade album – but it still charted higher than any of the singles from their previous album (4 of which reached the top 30). The 3 lowest new entries to the top 40 (Ne-Yo, Mika and Linkin Park) would all reach #6 on their first week of physicals (although Ne-Yo did climb to #4 afterwards). Thnks Fr Th Mmrs was (I believe) only the second chart hit with a title in text-speak (the other being Pts.Of.Athrty by Linkin Park). Amy Winehouse – Back To Black would break the record for “Most Weeks In The Top 75 Without Reaching The Top 20”, managing 34 weeks in all (it did in fact visit the top 30 on 3 occasions) without exceeding #25.
April 11, 200817 yr Thnks Fr Th Mmrs was (I believe) only the second chart hit with a title in text-speak (the other being Pts.Of.Athrty by Linkin Park). What about 'LDN' by Lily Allen?

April 12, 200817 yr I thought Mark Ronson would be guaranteed the No.1 the following week...I didn't expect Timbaland to do it at all...
April 12, 200817 yr Now that is an interesting chart i can't believe its a year old though and it was a shame MCR missed the top 10 and settled for 13 :(
