October 21, 200817 yr I do like the promise, it's not fantastic, but because Call The Shots, The Show and Love Machine missed out on number 1 I think Girls Aloud deserve a real number one (Not off the back of a TV Show or Charity) although their current record of Top 3 singles isn't one to be ashamed of :P Very shocked about the Sugababes :cry: My sister will be so dissapointed. Is it a bad album? If not then I might by it form my sister for Christmas, after uploading it to iTunes for myself :P

October 21, 200817 yr indeed, although the reception of The Promise on Buzzjack is 50/50 love/hate, I don't know anyone outside of this forum who doesn't like the song...all of my friends and family love it! I'm the same, random people have told me they love this song. I think some here just love to hate on GA. I mean ofcourse nobody can love every GA song, infact some probably genuinely dont see any appeal atall in any of their songs, but you can tell the genuine opinions and then the losers who just diss every release regardless of anything.

I mean ofcourse nobody can love every GA song, infact some probably genuinely dont see any appeal atall in any of their songs, but you can tell the genuine opinions and then the losers who just diss every release regardless of anything. I find I either love or hate every GA song. 'Can't Speak french', 'The Show', 'Long Hot Summer', 'Jump', 'Sexy No no no' just awful, can't bear them... yet 'Wake Me Up', 'Love Machine' and now 'The Promise' have been among my favourite songs of the entire decade! As far as I am concerned, they are completely at the mercy of their songwriters. Many of their songs - 'Biology' and I think 'The Promise' are quite clever in their song structure, and not just simple, forgettable pop ditties. I find 'The Promise' to be quite uplifting in many ways, not the lyrics as such, but the melody just has that certain something that draws me in so I just wanna hear it again and again. But then, any lyric which can incoporate the phrase 'Walking Primrose' has got to be a winner in my book! :lol:
October 21, 200817 yr I absolutely hated Love Machine, definitely one of their worst imo. The Show pisses all over it :D I think SNN was a mess, but I loved the intro. Call The Shots and Can't Speak French are amongst their best i'd say.

I'm not saying they didnt say it, its just that when a person asks for a source, a response of "it was in an interview" isnt a source, its just words.
