Posted October 25, 200816 yr Topic on Deluxe Edition albums If you own the original album say for example Duffy - Rockferry, would you go out and buy the Deluxe Edition as well for the extra tracks, or just say sod it, I stick to the original album.
October 25, 200816 yr Yes, but after the price of it had come down, and depending whether i liked the new tracks
October 25, 200816 yr It depends on the artist. I haven't bought rihanna's album, but I decided to buy it when the Deluxe edition was available. The new tracks were very good. I have Duffy's Rockferry, so it depends on the new tracks if I buy the deluxe edition.
October 25, 200816 yr I'd just buy the new tracks from itunes if it comes out cheaper. Don't see why not
October 25, 200816 yr Oops I answered Yes but I kinda meant No. I mean, I like the new tracks - they give us something to listen to until the next album at least. But no, I don't buy the deluxe versions if I already have the album I just illegally download the extra tracks.
October 25, 200816 yr NO i hate them i would rather have 12 new tracks on a full album insted of like 3 new ones!!!
October 25, 200816 yr No, would never buy an album twice. Actually I just lied. Bought Rumours by Fleetwood Mac again as it was remastered and cheap and sounds far far better than the early CD issues. Wouldn't buy a recent one again though. Edited October 25, 200816 yr by Crazy Chris
October 25, 200816 yr Definatly no, they are absouletly stupid. The only one's i've bought are Kelly Rowland's and Chris Brown's. Kelly had a lot of new tracks and back then i didnt think Superhuman would become a single.
October 25, 200816 yr Unless they're out at the same time as the normal album (or around the same time) then I don't see the point TBH! I think Britney is releasing a normal album or for 6 quid extra you can buy the deluxe on the same day instead. Especially Amy Winehouse & Duffy (whose I heard is basically B-Sides + a couple of exclusives) Deluxe. Yeah it's nice, but from a million selling album, what's the point? I understand people like Chris Brown & Kelly Rowland's albums. This is how general opening sales are going to die down. Because too many people are gonna catch on and think 'what's the point in buying this one when in a couple of months time there will be a deluxe version for the same price?' Luckily for me though, I haven't got Duffy's album yet, so I may as well wait until the Deluxe version if i DO buy it -_- But I get annoyed when I find out someone who's album I already have is being re-released as a deluxe version. (i.e Leona & Cascada)
October 25, 200816 yr I'm just gonna download Duffy's extra tracks. Thats what i did with maroon 5's deluxe.
October 25, 200816 yr These days, I will buy any extra tracks that take my fancy. I have never re-bough a special edition or delux album when I already have the original. I am in a quandry about the upcoming VLV deluxe from Coldplay, but will probably just buy the Prospekts March EP instead of the whole package again.
October 25, 200816 yr All the deluxe editions are quite annoying. I buy them if there's some interesting stuff on them and then I sell the old album on an auction ;)
October 25, 200816 yr It depends on the case, as in how decent is the package, for example i wouldnt buy a Duffy deluxe edition if it was onyl 3 extra tracks but if you take something like NIN's 'The Downward spiral' that gave a whole extra disc, then yeah i would say it is worth it.
October 25, 200816 yr only if it is released at the same time as the normal album, if not i download the extra tracks
October 25, 200816 yr No. If I have the original album, then if the album is reissued 6-9 months later with extra tracks then I'll be damned if I'm going to be ripped off into buying it again.
October 25, 200816 yr I would if I like the new tracks and if it comes with a DVD with bonus material.
October 25, 200816 yr if it's Girls Aloud (ala Sound of The Underground) yes  I've only ever done it for Rihanna though, and I got it for £3.99, as I love Disturbia  I wouldn't have bought it again though if Disturbia was released on physical.
