I know they have a forum, but honestly, who is going to visit there? :kink:

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is preparing to retire from music - because he believes rock stars should call it quits before reaching their mid-30s.

Martin is adamant the Yellow hitmakers will step away from the limelight sometime in the next few years - to ensure they are on top of their game when they leave the music industry.

But he insists that until he and his bandmates take their final bow, they will continue to put out as many albums as possible.

He says, "I'm 31 now and I don't think that bands should keep going past 33.

"I don't believe in time off. We've still got most of our hair, we can still fit into our musical trousers and we've got to make the most of that."

So it looks like a Greatest hits and thats that.... . Never really get too excited/bothered about bands splitting up, even if they are one of my favourites. I just take it as if comes, which also means that i won't nessessarily buy an album even if i am a big fan.

Why were you visiting the Coldplay forum anyway?

I know journalists just take things in the wrong way <_< . Then again i didn't read closely enough.

Fortunately in the UK they tend not to completely lie :D

The Yahoo caption said...

'Coldplay HINT at early retirement'

Pete Townsend (1965) "Hope I Die Before I Get Old" famously said that when he was aged 20.

Well he is still around making music today.

Mind you he did not say something in his early twenties to the effect of if I'm still making music when I'm 40 you have permission to shoot me, as a certain member of a well known 1960s "Beat combo" from Liverpool once did.

John, there are over 100 members of the Coldplay forum on here ;) So, even though you don't like them, they are fortunately popular :P

I will believe this when I see it - they said all this after their last album
