Albums brief review after 2 plays of each):

 

The Killers - Day & Age (Very Pet Shop Boys meets U2, catchy but lightweight. Only Human & Spaceman are immediate standouts) 6/10

 

Paul McCartney & Youth (The Fireman) - Electric Arguments (Despite a load of great reviews I don't think this album deserve it. Very hit & miss. Surprisingly the Rockiest of the 3 albums I've bought today) 5/10

 

Guns N' Roses - Chinese Democracy (After 15 years this album had to be a combination of Back In Black meets Led Zeppelin IV to match the hype. It is not that good. However, it is far, far better than I expected. It is very epic, very commercial and most surprisingly very modern sounding. Metalheads will hate it as musically it is nearer to Queen & Linkin Park than to Metallica & Velvet Revolver, but fans of good quality music with a love of strong hooks will love it. Far better than either Use Your Illusion albums) 9/10

Why? I'm a Take That fan and would rather put my money towards going to seeing them a couple of times in concert. I haven't even downloaded it once ... I like the song but I like my money more! I'm waiting to go to town and buy the single.

 

I think multiple downloads is really daft to be honest! It makes the tiniest of dint in the overall sales and to me it shows that you don't have much confidence in them selling the single unless you do this. Its the same when people were downloading loads of Womanizer - it didn't make a jot of difference! And again ... no real faith in the artist.

 

Still ... its your money!

I have confidence in the band and their chart performance but I have and will continue to multi-buy Take That releases - Crazy? perhaps but its my choice and I am sure my sales indeed do not make much/any difference but in the grand scheme of things when 100s of fans are doing the same thing then indeed a difference however small can be made :D

What an odd reply? Even if 1,000 extra sales of RTW were purchased by the multiple downloaders of then it would not have made ant difference as you previously mentioned but with a single such as 'I'd Wait For Life' that you pointed out then it did make a difference with a few 100 sales between positions 17-22 that week. As you said it is going off topic and I am not really fussed what peoples views are - I can afford to do it and use several accounts/credit cards in doing so to ensure my sales count and I will continue to do it for all future solo and band releases.

Don't say that Harvey :cry: I love the album, it's just more commercial than their first two albums... which is probably why I love it :lol:

I'm no huge Killers fan but I bought Day & Age on a whim whilst doing my xmas shopping and have listened to it once and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought it would, certainly more than I've enjoyed any of their past rockier singles...I like their new direction a lot :D

 

Well that's fine. But I expected a Rock album not a Pop album, so although it is early days I think it will be my least favourite of their 3 studio albums despite Human becoming my all time favourite Killers track.

 

But then again maybe its because I bought the new GNR album which took me by surprise by how unexpectedly good it is.

^^ X-mas wrapping is the b-side to Goodbye! Its basically a duet with emma an melanie c as they are the only vocals on it, as the other 2 were having kids at the time and Geri went solo lol I think i may buy it, but next week tho!
