Q gave Chinese Democracy 4/10 but gave Killers 8/10.

So did NME. Hardly surprising to see the two biggest Indie magazines in the world ranking The Killers above the GNR comeback, is it? Most reviews of Chinese Democracy have been fairly positive - NME and Q (and The Sun, if you count it...) have been the only majorly negative ones so far.

I was listening to Radio 5Live yesterday afternoon (driving home from doing some Xmas shopping), and they had to music critics on - one from the NME & the other from Metal Hammer. They both heavily bashed the GNR album and praised the Killers album.

 

Hilariously the critic from NME compared the battle to that of the Kaiser Chiefs vs AC/DC and it looked like a whole propaganda piece against GNR. But the DJ Colin Paterson pointed out the GNR album has sold more copies in one day compared to Metallica or AC/DC's albums, and The Killers album had sold more in one day than the Kaiser Chiefs album had sold in its first week. Then he opened up the phonelines for the public to comment and more hilariously the majority of phone callers were praising the commercial sounding GNR album (which is why Metalheads wont like the album because it is full of tunes & melodiesthat Queen would have been proud of and Jon Bon Jovi would kill for) and criticising the Killers album (one punter who said it was more lightweight than the Girls Aloud album is close to being correct).

I've gone on a bit of a download spree today, I still had a fair bit left from iTunes vouchers.
