If it sold 32k on Sunday (the rumoured iTunes 28k + 4k from yesterday's mids), there's no reason it can't have sold 37k on the Monday to make the 69k. I'm sure sales are usually stronger on Mondays than Sundays because as we know downloads take a while to climb before reaching a peak during the week

Yes, I think its Sunday - Tuesday. If did sell 69K Sunday and Monday alone, that would mean its sold more than Bleeding love did in it's first 2 days (66K).

Whatever way, its still massive!. :)

I thought that, but was informed Sunday is actually the biggest day for downloads.

I've never seen the actual split between Sunday/Monday sales, but looking at it logically, the majority of people are at home on a Sunday whereas on a Monday they are at work.

Therefore from a download-only release, I'd expect more sales on a Sunday than on a Monday.

32k on Sunday + 15k on Monday = 47k on Tuesday which would give the same full week extrapolation (150k) as 69k for Sunday-Tuesday inclusive would.

Downloads taking a while to climb before reaching a peak is only because the iTunes chart employs moving averages to track popularity. Therefore if the iTunes chart is a 3-day rolling chart, then its quite obvious that songs released on a Sunday won't reach their peak until Tuesday evening (3 days into its iTunes life) as Run did.

OMG!

I just though Without Itunes input yesterday Leona Had sales totalling 4.5k..Now she's at 69k, meaning roughly 63k is from Itunes alone :o

What is the main reason Jeff Buckley in the top 40 midweeks?
The song is used in a BBC advert for the iPlayer I think...

Good to see they've sorted everything out now and Leona is at her rightful posistion of #1

Great to see Listen in the top 40, shame it probably wont be there by Sunday though

It is a good song :D I do hope it stays there :D

Has a fair chance of the Xmas #2 though - 3rd week sales should be around the same level (120k-135k), or even higher :o, based on equivalent sales from last week.

this is what I want to happen, and then I'll be £170 better off :cheer:

Album sales:

1 204.6k THE CIRCUS TAKE THAT

2 47.6k DAY & AGE KILLERS

3 35.9k CIRCUS BRITNEY SPEARS

4 35.9k SPIRIT LEONA LEWIS (54 copies behind)

5 27.5k ONLY BY THE NIGHT KINGS OF LEON

Front page updated.

Take That heading for 500k+ :o:o

Leona will do around 100-120 k this week. But does anyone else think that after Take That's itv special this sunday they could take the number one spot back to themselves next week?

X Factor's choice of song for Xmas. I think...

Leona will do around 150k this week, or there abouts.

Take That have no chance of the #1 in the singles chart next week - they will easily hold the #1 spot in the albums though, 500k this week and a huge sale again the following 3 weeks :)

Take That haven't got a hope in hell of being #1 have they! Decent sales all around at the mo, should be another good week for album sales

You all think too much of this bland cover version, i guess.))

I know that Take That would have no chance to get the number one spot back off Leona but they are doing a prime time tv special "An audience with.." this weekend . I am sure its gonna be a hit show and will boost their sales up by quite a lot. That's why i asked. Also Leonas sales will slow down too next week.

Lol, Leona will easily sell over 100k next week...hence no one will touch her! -_-

Do you think so? I think maximal 400k as they sold in the second day only half from the first day. Does this number of 204.6k take also the pre-sales in account?
