Posted December 5, 200816 yr After the shame of Sanctuary. Could downloads and xmas give this song success, the physical release yet to be confirmed. The 1st single off 'Lessons To Be Learned Deluxe' and 4th UK Single (which should be the 3rd because of the promo of Sanctuary). Anyways predict please
December 5, 200816 yr It could probably go Top 20 but will do little to revive her career as it will disappear after 1 or 2 weeks in the charts and will be forgotten by the end of January!

December 5, 200816 yr Career need reviving? What year was she big again. This year wasn't it? Seriously i think it could crack the Top 10.
December 5, 200816 yr Hmm top 40 at least but where? i dont know, though it'll only be around for 4 weeks :/

What promo? :w00t: I still can't believe that 'Don't Want To Go To Be Now' hasn't been released as a single - IMO, after Sweet About Me, it is the best song on the album. As for WTW, I'd say T20, though I hope that's an underestimate... She *is* #19 on the new Amazon MP3 chart... :) Edited December 5, 200816 yr by vidcapper
December 5, 200816 yr Her career needs reviving? Career need reviving? What year was she big again. This year wasn't it? Yes I think her career does need reviving - She has had 1 Top 10 single, A follow up which charted at #33 and disappeared 2 weeks later and an album nowhere to be seen in the Top 50 sellers of the year...

December 5, 200816 yr Author Yes I think her career does need reviving - She has had 1 Top 10 single, A follow up which charted at #33 and disappeared 2 weeks later and an album nowhere to be seen in the Top 50 sellers of the year... That top 10 single is sitting just outside the top 20 for UK song of the year..above Coldplay's no1 Viva La Vida which just shows you how it's success isn't reflected in the charts. Save The Lies was released while Sweet About Me was still huge which was really dumb.. I mean most songs don't peak/do as well with an early 2nd single release. Sanctuary got no promo. Poor singles choice. I don't think you could say her career needs reviving based on just that. Sweet About Me is probably one of the global songs of the year.. She's just turned 17. If you look at Britney's success with her first album, Baby One More Time was the only huge success from it.. If Gabriella had better promo management STL wouldve went top 10/20, Sanctuary top 20/30 and Dont Wanna Go To Bed Now would've got top 10 with a release imo. An artist like Whitney Houston or Anastasia is in need of reviving not Gabriella whose one of the huge breakthrough artists atm. Charts don't reflect talent or fan bases..

I agree with your points but that is what I am saying she has had one hit single - Regardless of how many copies it sold or where in the world it charted the fact is she has failed to follow up her huge debut single or translate the success of the first single into album sales. I have Gabriella's first 2 singles and album but she is certainly not a 'huge breakthrough act' and to the general public is a one hit wonder. I would love to see her do well but this song certainly isn't going to be the one to do it - It will drop straght out of the charts after Christmas and forgotten about.

It's the record label.. Example Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Saturdays etc are only successful in the UK and almost nowhere else so the record label goes full scale on promo in the UK. Where Gabriella's album and first single was released mid 2007 and mainly intended for Australia only.. Her first single success globally came totally unexpected, so I don't think there was enough preparation for it to be a global success. Where Gabriella got breakthrough single, breakthrough artist, breakthrough album of the year in Australia.
December 5, 200816 yr Sweet About Me was initially intended for a soft release, for the full scale promo and stuff to hit us over the summer with the second single and an album re-release. I don't think the label were ready for how big SAM would be
December 6, 200816 yr I love her, but she has only had one big single off this album and she won't have another one, she'll just have to go away and come back with a new album after tis single and do a hell of a lot more promo... there is nothing she can do to make herself bigger or more known in the Uk with this current album
