Posted March 9, 200916 yr Flo Rida storms to the summit of the charts, as last weeks number 1, 'My Life Would Suck Without You' by Kelly Clarkson falls to 4 on physical release week. Flo Rida scores his first ever UK number 1 with the record breaking single 'Right Round'. After the sensational success of 'Low', which peaked at number 2 a little over a year ago, Flo Rida continued have some sort of success over here with his Top 30 hit's 'Elevator' which peaked at number 20 and 'In The Ayer' which peaked at number 29, but it wasn't until now he was to out peak his debut single. 'Right Round' debut's at number 1 on downloads alone and manages to get the UK and US number 1, both simultaneously. Lady Gaga is the most recent to top both charts with 'Just Dance' at the beginning of the year. Also, for the second week in a row, we have a brand new Top 2, with The Saturdays debuting at number 2, and currently giving them their best chart position to date with the official Comic Relief single 'Just Can't Get Enough'. Despite it becoming their highest charting single, it is the first Comic Relief single to not debut at the number 1 spot, since 1994's Comic Relief single 'Absolutely Fabulous' by The Pet Shop Boys which peaked at number 6. Some would say it is just unlucky as it had outsold the last Comic Relief single, which debuted at number 1 in 2005, by at least 13,000 copies. At number 3 for the second week in a row, is the hugely successful Lady Gaga with her second single 'Poker Face' which has been pushed back for a 13th April release. 'Poker Face' has been a dominant single on downloads alone so far moving, 30-26-28-24-22-15-{3}-3 in it's first 8 weeks. With the physical release still over a month away, could Lady Gaga be the first act to have two number 1 singles from the same album, since 2007 when Timbaland reached number 1 with 'Give It To Me' & 'The Way I Are'? Down to number 4 and the first song to drop from the Top spot during it's physical release week, is last week's number 1 'My Life Would Suck Without You'. Kelly Clarkson was expected to fall this week to at least number 3 after Flo and The Saturdays were released on iTunes early Sunday Morning, but a late surge from Lady Gaga which propelled her above both Kelly Clarkson and The Sats on Friday, saw Kelly drop one place lower than the mid's suggested. Also down 3 places on physical release week is Taylor Swift who falls to 5 with 'Love Story'. Completing the Top 10 this week are T.I. feat. Justin Timberlake, Lily Allen, Lady Gaga, Shontelle & The Pussycat Dolls who all fall from their places last week. This week's highest climber inside the Top 40 comes from Akon, who follow's up his top 10 hit 'Right Now (Na Na Na)' with 'Beautiful' which moves up 17 places to a new peak of 13. 'Beautiful' has become Akon's 12th Top 20 hit in which he at least feature's. At number 14 is Take That's second single from their million selling album 'The Circus', 'Up All Night' which climbs 3 places upon physical release week. It becomes their 2nd single, since their hugely successful comeback in 2006, to miss the Top 10, after 'I Wait For Life' stopped their run of consecutive Top 10 singles since 1992, with a Top 75 run of {17}-50 and out. 'Up All Night' however seems to be more successful as it has already spent over double the time of what 'I Wait For Life' had spent. The third highest New Entry inside the Top 40 this week is 18 year old Chipmunk. Who enters the Top 40 for the first time with 'Chip Diddy Chip', on downloads alone, at number 21. Further down at number 29, is the third simultaneous Top 40 entry for the band of the moment, Kings of Leon. Who's 3rd single, from their multi-platinum selling album 'Only by the Night', recieves a much needed physical boost as 'Revelry' enters the Top 40 for the first time this week. Also, recieving a boost upon physical release is UK Urban star, Lemar, who's 11th solo single 'Weight of the World' jumps from 46 to 31 this week. Lemar gets his 10th Top 40 hit single since 'Dance With U' debuted at number 2, back in 2002. The final New Entry this week is in at number 40, and it is also Beyonce's 3rd simultaneous Top 40 entry, with 'Single Ladies' currently at number 17 & 'If I Were a Boy' at number 39. 'Halo' is a Ryan Tedder (of OneRepublic fame) written ballad, which was originally meant to be Leona Lewis' first single from her second album. 'Halo' gives Beyonce her 15th consecutive Top 40 hit. (Not including her Destinys Child stuff) Onto the album chart Top 10 now, and this week's highest new entry comes from veteran's U2 and their 12th Studio album, 'No Line on the Horizon'. It is their 10th UK number 1 album and this makes them joint 3rd with Madonna and The Rolling Stones, to having the most amount of UK number 1 albums. Elvis Presley and The Beatles are still the two acts leading. Last weeks number 1 album 'Invader's Must Die' by the Prodigy slips a place to 2, whilst Kings of Leon are still selling strong in their 24th consecutive week in the Top 10, as they also slip just the one place to 3. Lady Gaga's album benefit's from 'Poker Face' and 'Just Dance' successes as it climbs back up to number 4 on it's 8th week in the chart. Lily Allen's 'It's Not Me, It's You' continue's fall for the 3rd week after a run of {1}-2-3-5 so far. Duffy also falls two places from last weeks position, with 'Rockferry' to number 6. Whilst Take That climb again with their album 'The Circus' up a place to number 7. Elbow, The Ting Tings & Fleet Foxes suffer minor falls as they complete the rest of the Top 10. Can Flo Rida keep his place at the top of the charts next week? He has tough competition from 'Barry Islands in the Stream' which gets a full release on Monday. It's a comedy single, from two members of the cast from the hit BBC sitcom 'Gavin & Stacey'. Vanessa Jenkins & Bryn West (a.k.a: Ruth Jones & Rob Brydon) team up with Sir Tom Jones and Robin Gibb, to give us this years comedy single for Comic Relief. The Saturdays could also be in with another chance, as they will be performing their charity single 'Just Can't Get Enough' on Comic Relief on Friday. Swedish singer Petra Eos Marklund, who is better known as September, is to follow up 2008's smash hit 'Cry For You' with 'Can't Get Over'. T.I. feat. Justin Timberlake 'Dead & Gone' has already peaked at number 4 on downloads alone, will they be able to reach a new peak with the physical release next week? Also, Oasis release their 3rd single 'Falling Down' today and will they be able to hit Top 40 with a single which is yet to make an impact on the iTunes Top 120, and has recieved very little video and radio play? Other notable releases are: Dan Black 'Alone', Katy Perry 'Thinking of You', Laura Izibor 'Shine' and Peter Doherty 'Last of the English Roses'. Notable releases next week from those who have limited releases come from Cocknbullkid 'I'm Not sorry', Defend Moscow 'Manifesto' and Snow Patrol 'If There's A Rocket, Tie Me To It'. Who all release their singles on limited (7") today. On the albums front, the Taylor Swift vs. Kelly Clarkson war is far from over. They both release their new albums today, and should be contenders for the Top 3. Annie Lennox releases a collection of her hits which could very well challenge for a Top 10 placing. Whilst Britains Got Talent favourite, Faryl Smith releases her debut 'Faryl' which could cause an upset. Other Notable releases come from, Lee Mead 'Nothing Else Matters' and Starsailor 'All the Plans'. Thanks for taking the time to read, and if this goes well I MAY plan more for the future. If there's anything wrong, please let me know I will be more than happy to correct it. This is my first time, so any tips and stuff on how to improve it would be much appreciated too :D Sources: ManicKangaroo, Polyhex, Wikipedia Edited March 9, 200916 yr by Jonjo

March 9, 200916 yr Wow, that's a really good read Jonjo! :) Good work, hope you continue to do this every week! With the physical release still over a month away, could Lady Gaga be the first act to have two number 1 singles from the same album, since 2007 when Timbaland reached number 1 with 'Give It To Me' & 'The Way I Are'? Leona Lewis has had 2 #1 singles from the same album (A Moment Like This and Bleeding Love); or 3 if you include Run which is also on Spirit (although in reality the Deluxe version).

I don't think AMLT is included in the album. Edited March 9, 200916 yr by funmaker11
March 9, 200916 yr Author It was included as a "Bonus Track" though, so I dunno if that counts  Thanks Spiidey :D

March 9, 200916 yr Just to cheap in on the Leona debate, I wouldn't really count her. "A Moment Like This" came nearly a year before the album then "Bleeding Love" with the original album release and "Run" after a deluxe edition was issued. If BIT/FITS or FM went to #1 as well I'd count it, but they didn't...
March 9, 200916 yr Very similar to Rich's :kink:. 4.30am, you must've been working hard :drama: Niiiice :D
