Believe it or not but i think this'll be a big contender for number 1 and after alot of cringefests. This is not bad. However this will be everyone's hate no.1 in a few weeks

Doesn't sound bad but come on, we don't wanna hear this again. It's outdated.

EDIT: I'll say Top 10 for this.

I'm saying #1 because he's an old coot and everyone will buy it. The old coots anyway. Dave Taylor.

It will bomb afterwards though

I think this maybe one of his very first recordings from the fifties, dont think its a new recording, though could be wrong. I think it is the same song as Tommy Steele & Guy Mitchell took to no.1 in 1950 something aswell, again could be wrong. I'm pretty sure Cliffs many thousands of loyal fans will ensure him a top 10 placing.

Actually it is the same track which has already gone to #1 twice before.

Nope. It's definitely a new recording to celebrate Cliff & The Shadows 50th Anniversary Tour.

In the autumn of 2009 Cliff & The Shadows will bring their partnership to an end with the "Golden Anniversary concert tour of the UK". A new album by Cliff Richard and the Shadows will be released, titled 'Reunited' it will be their first studio project in forty years.

The 28 tracks recorded will comprise of 25 re-recordings of their earlier classics, with three 'new' tracks, originally from that era (and earlier), the single Singing the Blues, along with Eddie Cochran's C'mon Everybody and the Frankie Ford hit Sea Cruise. The tracks are to be spread across the single and its bonus tracks, a limited edition version of the album, as well as a standard CD release. The reunion tour is to continue into Europe in 2010.

Could this give Cliff his 00s number 1 then? I do like a bit of the Shadows - grew up with them as my Dad is a fan. Wonderful Land is amazing!
 How desperate is Cliff for a #1 hit in the 00's after 'Thank You For A Lifetime' failed to hit the top spot. Not sure this will do it for him especially after his last effort failed despite being available [And selling VERY well] on physicals in Woolies. His fanbase are not into downloading and unless he gets someone like Tesco etc, to stock the physical he has no chance.
It could prove to be a clever piece of marketing. They've taken a classic song from the time when Cliff made decent records (the 50s and 60s) rather than the bland rubbish he's released in the last few decades. It's clearly a last throw of the dice to try and get a number one this decade but I think it has a better chance than the last effort which was absolutely dire. Of course, if he died in the week of release, it would be an absolute shoo-in for number one.

And the rest of his single back catalogue back in the charts -_- just imagine congratulations making a late impact, ironic.

He won't sell more than a few hundred downloads so he needs to sell 70K physicals (the average for a #1 this year) - which is never going to happen since nowhere sells physical singles anymore.

I don't see many pensioners being able to increase the 30-odd thousands copies his last single sold, so absolutely NIL chance of a number 1.

Unlucky Cliff. Should have tried it in 2005 when you only needed to sell 20K to get to No1.

I don't get it, Christmas is still 5 months away, surely he should still be hibernating for at least another 4 months?

No chance of #1 - his fanbase overwhelmingly prefer physical singles, and there are too few places where they can be bought now - plus it'd take them too long to get to the shops on their zimmer-frames... :w00t:

T10 perhaps, then plummetting.
