September 4, 200916 yr Sales updated on first page. Oh and Dolly Rockers 45+1. Sharon Corr smashing at 160-3 :yahoo:
September 4, 200916 yr Author It seems I was pretty bang on with my estimates, I reckon Jay-Z and Co are heading for 60k plus, while Sugababes I was a bit under, I should imagine they will end up around 55-56k. I don't think many teenagers will buy music in droves this weekend, more like getting their school stuff for the new term. The top 5 singles look pretty certain for Sunday to be honest
September 4, 200916 yr Well I'm thinking the Sugababes are safe at #2. Maybe not... I'd rather them at #1 than RTT as I can only stomach Rihanna's parts on that song. Then again 'Get Sexy' is definitely down at the bottom of the Sugababes discography pile for me. Tough call :P
September 4, 200916 yr I think Sugababes is the best out of the Top 2! We will have to see what happens :)
September 4, 200916 yr Vera Lynn in the albums top 5  FRESH Looks like she might make number 2 album by Sunday!. Is this the longest span(albums or singles) for chart success by a living person?. (first charted 1952 in the first ever singles chart). 57 years!.
September 4, 200916 yr I think Suagabes will remain #2, there's a 6k gap between them and Guetta and he's only closed the gap by around 1k since yesterday.

September 4, 200916 yr Why the huge leap for her though? News coverage about her being the oldest living person to be in the album chart ever (I think?) The 70th anniversary of the start of WWII
September 4, 200916 yr Not so much bashing, which is good to see. Aggravates me so much. Nice to see Sugas at #2, but a shame to Booty Luv fall out of Top 15 :(
September 4, 200916 yr News coverage about her being the oldest living person to be in the album chart ever (I think?) The 70th anniversary of the start of WWII Hmmm OK. The 70th anniversay of millions of people dying and you go buy Vera Lynn to celebrate? The UK public do amuse me sometimes.
September 4, 200916 yr Hmmm OK. The 70th anniversay of millions of people dying and you go buy Vera Lynn to celebrate? The UK public do amuse me sometimes. Her songs gave people inspiration during the war though. Nothing like a bit of gratitude.
September 4, 200916 yr Her songs gave people inspiration during the war though. Nothing like a bit of gratitude. I know. I was joking.
September 4, 200916 yr Sex On Fire has been out for months, but loads of people who hadn't bought it yet felt the urge to buy it/download it just because they heard it on X-Factor? Like "I didn't care about that song but now that its was played on X-Factor, I want to have it!" For a foreigner like me, it's a bit hard to get their head around it. What a narrow minded view. Perhaps people who were watching X Factor, who don't normally listen to the radio, heard it and liked it, or those that were a bit indifferent before felt a connection with the song based on an alternate version of the vocal. X Factor should be welcomed for the effect it has on sales, not the opposite.
September 4, 200916 yr Can't believe Booty Luv fell out of the top 15, imo it's top 3 material. :snif:
September 4, 200916 yr I know. I was joking. Sorry, i meant the public were grateful and that's why they are buying it, not that you were being ungrateful. :D

Just look at Faith Hill's There You'll Be. It rocketed to #10 last year because of XF and although it was #3 a few years back, it was still relatively unknown (due to the artist). Another example is Listen. This is one of Beyonce's best songs but it only reached #16. Thanks to it being performed on a huge nation-wide show, it finally went top 10 and probably added another 80k to it's sales tally. The X Factor shows some fantastic songs to a wider-audience and gives them the recognition they deserve.
September 4, 200916 yr X-factor just reminds people of songs, its the same as if you hear an old song on the radio and think wow and go off and download it, i do that all the time.
September 4, 200916 yr I'm not suprised at the Sugababes being behind Jay-Z. I mean Jay-Z, Rihanna & Kanye on one track has got hit written all over it. The X Factor generally is good for the chart. For example, the week Britney performed on X Factor she was at #6 during the midweeks and after her performance she climbed
