November 21, 201015 yr I'm not a Westlife fan, but I actually really like Safe I do aswell actually, its really quite good.
November 21, 201015 yr i wouldn't doubt westlife getting another number 1, they just need a 'song of the moment' cover, bet they are kicking themselves they didn't cover adele's track lol
November 21, 201015 yr for sure its not bad, but its a little bit boring and not a ballad i could listen the whole day. . . there are much beter songs on their new album. . .
November 21, 201015 yr I'm not a Westlife fan, but I actually really like Safe Same with me, it think it's very nice, and I wouldn't say they are karaoke singers by any means, by main umbrage with them was all the cover versions they did.
November 21, 201015 yr Yayy!! Another top 10 for westlife!! I really wanted it to chart higher..but they have done practically no promo for this, apart from the x factor, but it needs to be played on radio. I hate the way radio one never support them. They only like to play certain types of music and never cater for a wider demo..after all we do all pay a license fee.
November 21, 201015 yr 9 (from 4) McFly Feat. Taio Cruz - Shine A Light [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/2755713.JPG Chart Run: 4-9 [2 wks] Release date: 08-11-2010 Format: CDS Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: 2755713 Label: Island UK pop quartet McFly burst on to the chart scene with a fresh twist on the boy band formula, they played their instruments! They wrote their own material! Lead vocalist and chief songwriter Tom Fletcher originally tried out for Busted, but when he was beaten to the position by Charlie Simpson the band's management held further auditions to form a new outfit centred around him. The links between the two bands were cemented when Fletcher contributed material for Busted b-sides, and the two bands toured together in 2003. The invaluable exposure from the tour helped push McFly's debut single, "5 Colours In Her Hair" to the top of the UK singles chart where it was promptly joined by debut full length ROOM ON THE 3RD FLOOR. Follow-up effort, WONDERLAND, matched that achievement and in 2006 they moved into the movies, starring alongside Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan in the film JUST MY LUCK. - HMV Video here: mtib5yRF_QQ Chart history (Year peak title): McFly 2004 01 5 Colours In Her Hair 2004 01 Obviously 2004 03 That Girl 2004 05 Room On The 3rd Floor 2005 01 All About You / You've Got A Friend 2005 01 I'll Be OK 2005 03 I Wanna Hold You 2005 09 Ultraviolet / The Ballad Of Paul K 2006 01 Don't Stop Me Now / Please Please 2006 01 Star Girl 2006 03 Sorry's Not Good Enough / Friday Night 2007 01 Baby's Coming Back / Transylvania 2007 03 The Heart Never Lies 2008 02 One For The Radio 2008 04 Lies 2008 18 Do Ya / Stay With Me 2010 06 Party Girl 2010 04 Shine A Light (McFly Feat. November 21, 201015 yr To be fair, in their early career, Westlife were really just in the right place at the right time for those no.1s. Take That and Boyzone had already done the work establishing the modern boyband of the nineties.
November 21, 201015 yr There's a boy band in Japan that have had 20 consecutive #1s, so we should consider ourselves lucky (although, to be fair, I think their songs are very good).
November 21, 201015 yr If this is still top 10 next week (which could happen) it'll be their first song to have 3 weeks in the top 10 since All About You - and to say they've had eleven other top ten hits since then that's really not very good  But this song definitely seems to be more popualr than most McFly songs, probably because it's one of their best songs :kink:  Edited November 21, 201015 yr by What's My Name?
November 21, 201015 yr Who'd've thought McFly's 2nd week single sales would've outsold Westlife 1st week single sales ;)
November 21, 201015 yr I find Shine a Light a bit boring to be honest. It sounds like a generic Taio Cruz song. :( But well done to them. It's done really well.
November 21, 201015 yr Who'd've thought McFly's 2nd week single sales would've outsold Westlife 1st week single sales ;) Quite! :D
November 21, 201015 yr Who'd've thought McFly's 2nd week single sales would've outsold Westlife 1st week single sales ;)I think Mcfly are heading for a good run. The next single will sure be popular outside of the fanbase also
