Your Song has outpeaked Starry Eyed already then. Not sure how I feel about that - it's a brilliant cover but it's not really great that it takes a cover for her to get a top 3!
I don't get this. Perhaps I just love the original too much.
Ellie just missed number 2 then- will definitely be there next week though :D

I'm not so certain, I can still see X-Factor Finalists and possibly Olly Murs hogging the top two.

my thoughts exactly :(

oh and I forgot about Olly and XFF- maybe she'll hold top 3 then

The inevitable question for the chart anoraks then: When was the last all ballad top 3?

And also, HURRAH at that, I love a good ballad and they've been practically non-existent in the top end of the charts in the last few years.

Tbf, the ballads in this weeks top3 were predictable, because of the artists behind them and the circumstances of their release. The last time a legitimate ballad that wasn't expected to do well, but actually did, was probably a long time ago.

I really hope next week marks the first time the X Factor finalists DON'T get to number one! They're always so dire!
So guees Jack The Lad Swings made it to the top for the 4th time.Congratz to them

More than Leona now isn't it?

I dont get the love for this version of "Your Song" at all. Its ok but nothing special in my opinion.
Love Ellie's Song, in a perfect world it would be number one next week unfortunately there's X Factor, Olly & JLS

Every decade has a teenybopper band that takes the charts by storm, and the early 1990s saw Take That picking up in the U.K. where '80s American teen stars New Kids On The Block left off. Led by songwriter and lead vocalist Gary Barlow, Take That hit it big with a mixture of dance-pop and heart-tugging ballads. After Robbie Williams's departure in 1995, the group held on long enough to release a greatest-hits package before calling it quits. Take That, minus Williams, re-united in 2006 for an unlikely but triumphant return to the centre stage with hit singles and albums, multiple music award gongs, as well as critical reappraisal. TT's 2009 The Circus Live tour became the fastest-selling in UK history. - HMV

I still LOVE two of them. JLS' one is good too...

Unfortunate that it couldn't get to #1 but hopefully The Flood can get a decent chart run, and 2-2 is a good start. I don't want it to tumble like Shame did...

JLS got the number one and now they have more than any over X Factor act, who'd funk it?

Edited by Leonardo

how unfunny was that thing before he announced the top 2?

well done JLS I guess :D oh and a random fact that this is the second time this year that Ellie Goulding and Rihanna have been 3 and 4 and fighting for it in the midweeks- although this time Ellie won
