I don't know anything about this mFlow, but are you 100% sure it doesn't count towards the chart?

I think it does actually, they are a new industry recognised website set up this year, technically I don't think they are doing anything wrong with this promotion

They seem to be subtly promoting the Bird song but as it's an offer for any song, they're not really breaking rules are they? Don't know enough about it myself but it sounds similar to those nokia codes the rage fans used and they counted  Perhaps somebody should let the Matt fans know, fight fire with fire :naughty:

65000 sold now in downloads, just over taken rhianna. . Matt on just under 200000 and slowing . . Spread this info, got from reliable source. . Keep this up and we will over take on saturday some time.

 Sales are not counted till after midnight  Rihanna would have increased

It's absolute bull as Matt will be on 300k or thereabouts tomorrow, not 200k

I just saw that too, suddenly Ryan whatshisface has got a 'reliable source' despite being the high profile clueless baffoon telling anyone who would listen that the info posted by the likes of me you Josh, Matt and others was 'fake' Yet suddenly he has a source LOL

Re, this mflow, a couple of people have started to scaremonger that the official charts company are going to investigate. Probably not true but they could have a case

Any song you want? Christmas number 1? And yet the red hot favourite is NOT on offer? Hmm dodgy at the very least me thinks.

Mflow's Twitter says up until 6pm they've had 4k worth of mflow downloads and more would have been downloaded tonight so perhaps they might get closer to Rihanna than I thought they'd be tomorrow

Ryan Winters quotes

there is nothing officially released, so any web sites claiming this, i agree, are lying. . I am saying my figures are from a reliable source. . But agree i cannot prove it. . We are in second.

eejit

the bit I cannot prove it, is a dead giveaway

Ryan (Winters) if you are reading this, we always publish the true figures on this site and have been for the past 6 years, so please stop faking, you will come across as a right twat, when the track will be at #3 tomorrow. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it

i cannot prove. . But if we slow down we will fall back into third. . Still got alot to do. . No one will be able to prove anything till sunday now.

Except for this forum and Music Week subscribers! So anyone who posts tomorrow's updates over there will be p***ing in the wind. They won't believe you but I hope somebody does if Matt is anywhere close to 300K ^_^

And Rihanna is still ahead of the Trashmen on iTunes, iTunes has the largest share in the download market surely, Ryan's post is full of potholes.

The ppl running the campaigns this year seem to have very little knowledge of how the charts work.

Eg, the Cage guys not knowing that sales on Sunday (Dec 12th) would have counted towards the Xmas chart (they thought you had to wait until Monday).

The Surfin Bird guys seem to have been watching every other download chart but the one that counts, ie, the iTunes chart.

Someone's just posted something about a surge for McElderry. Clearly some of these people have entered a time warp

... a surge for WHO?!

:P

Regardless of weather you are a Matt Cardle fan or a supporter of the Surfin Bird campaign, I think its a sad reflection of the state of modern music. Whatever happened to originality, whatever happened to people getting together & making new music. I don't agree with the whole disposable pop ethic of the X factor, where is the incentive for the record company to promote Matt or previous contestants through times of poor sales? It wont happen because in a few months they can be replaced with a new batch of winners who will generate cash until a time comes when they get dropped & replaced.

Disposable singers playing a short game of karaoke until they are replaced, sad for modern music & the poor kids involved.

Getting behind a single from 1963 wont help in the long term, if only all this effort was put into promoting acts that are struggling for recognition from nowhere who really have something to offer.

I'm a bit out of this so I need an update

What's the point of this year's campaigns? Stopping Rihanna from Xmas #2? Cause it's not like they're gonna stop Matt this year.

Which is why some of us loathe X Factor so much. It's all about instant fame rather than building up support over a number of years.

I suppose the whole point of the campaigns is a protest at the xmas no1's provided by the X factor. I think people think thats its unfair to other artists, who else gets that level of promotion leading up to christmas?

The current X Factor winner has been struggling for over a decade to get noticed. I don't get this snobbery about music - a lot of celebrated artists over the years become overnight successes. There are lots of different routes to success not just one.

Oh but they are they're going to storm to victory in the latter stages because apparently Rage were behind all week so they're in a similar position (except they're in joe's position playing catch up and on just slightly less sales.

A few buzzjackers went to the group and kindly pointed out they were well over 100k behind matt and would be lucky to even topple Rihanna and they didn't take the news too well. In their minds midweeks don't exist and there will be no more sales update until Sunday now which may happen if we don't get sales today but I'm hoping we do!

Despite not believing in midweeks one of them had a "source" telling them matt had stalled at 200k sales and they were now on 65k ahead of Rhi.

Meaning matt sold less than 40k. When his cd came out, less than he sold Tuesday. Erm yeah that makes sense.

So yeah that's about it!
