December 31, 201014 yr I really don't know what to say. I think 2011 will be a very good year for Rihanna. That's my only prediction. When it comes to Britney, you can never be too sure. If she wants UK success, she is gonna need to come here to promote way more. And she will have to release a ballad. I can see Cheryl re-releasing her album. I'm not too sure what will happen with Avril, probably "What The Hell" will be huge, but the follow-up to sell the album will flop. I hope Michelle Branch gets a release. And it's pretty inevitable that "Tonight (I'm f***ing You)" will be a big success, it'll only need to be played in gay clubs to guarantee at least top 20.
December 31, 201014 yr Tonight (I'm f***ing You) will be #1, easy. Two versions of the song, Guetta production....got it in the bag I'd say. Grenade is going to be #1 too. After that, too hard to say. Whatever GaGa releases will probably go to #1, but too hard to say on everything else at the moment just because the UK are so fickle.
December 31, 201014 yr pretty much agree with everything thats been said really, Bruno Mars, Rihanna and Jessie J look likely to get there, Ke$ha could but its been released early to top 3 more likely, can't see Adele getting number 1
December 31, 201014 yr Ed Drewett is releasing an album in 2011 too (I think, I hope) Considering Champagne Lemonade flopped, I am not too confident of a hit for him, but I will buy the album nevertheless.
December 31, 201014 yr I think Rihanna could still do it next week, unless Grenade goes to download early. Bruno Mars should easily earn himself a #1 with Grenade closely followed by Adele the following week, I can't see anything else pass Adele at the moment Adele?! She is far too MOR to go #1 in an urban-dominated singles market!
December 31, 201014 yr pretty much agree with everything thats been said really, Bruno Mars, Rihanna and Jessie J look likely to get there, Ke$ha could but its been released early to top 3 more likely, can't see Adele getting number 1 It hasn't actually been released though :P Will probably be deleted soon (the album it's being cherry-picked from is some random Greek compilation by the looks of it), unless it gets really high then maybe iTunes will delete it and then the label will release the official one due to high demand? Unlikely though. How long did it take for the songs to be deleted in similar situations? Adele?! She is far too MOR to go #1 in an urban-dominated singles market! Scouting For Girls. (And the market isn't urban-dominated anyway but that's another story) Edited December 31, 201014 yr by superbossanova
December 31, 201014 yr 'Billionaire' (which was in a similar situation to 'We R Who We R') was on iTunes for about three/four days before it got removed. Even so, it managed a peak of #11 before it got deleted.
December 31, 201014 yr Rihanna featuring Drake - What's My Name Wouldn't be too surprised if this was #1 on Sunday. I doubt 'When We Collide' will sell a large amont of physical cd singles this week although it could be close sales wise. Bruno Mars 9 Grenade Seems like a potential hit imo but don't see it selling as much as 'Just The Way You Are' did in its first week of release and won't have any high profile TV show it boost its sales either. Adele - Rolling In The Deep As Simonf mentioned, already #1 in Holland. Didn't know it was no. 1 on German iTunes. The signs are positive for Adele to score her first UK #1 single. She can also thank The X Factor for raising her public profile with a two year track. Avril Lavigne - What The Hell Not heard yet and will reserve judgement. It could be as big as 'Girlfriend' or on par with the fourth single released from 'Let Go'. Diddy Dirty Money - Coming Home Every year there seems to be one massive US RnB hit. I hope this could be that song as imo it's a great track. However, up against Adele and even Ke$ha, I'm not sure if this has what it takes to be UK #1. Ke$ha - We R Who We R Already been added to iTunes via some US compilation. Will obviously lose sales now so I'm almost certain this won't be #1 when officially released. Chase & Status feat Liam Bailey - Blind Faith Having heard this, I think it's by far Chase & Status' best single to date so hopefully this will be reflected in the UK charts. Enrique Iglesias - Tonight Well, it's the UK so it doesn't matter how "rude" the video is (I've not actually seen this) but it'll be heavily edited for the UK market (ie; suitable for daytime airplay). Then again I haven't heard this track so can't comment on the track itself either. Yasmin - On My Own This is a real grower - thought it was ok(ish) on first listen but listening to the track a few times since, it has grown on me.
December 31, 201014 yr Really hope Ke$ha gets her first #01 with 'We R Who We R', it's seriously epic <3. Oh and Jessie J too obvs.
December 31, 201014 yr I really think everyone is over-estimating ADELE. I think top 5 at best, but more likely top 10. I reckon out of that list that, What's My Name, Grenade, Coming Home and We R Who We R will get #1. I'm not sure about Enrique, he might do it? SIX! :o You haven't been around for ages! Leona & David Guetta? we're not overestimating her. CP almost reached #1, MYFML is selling constantly, her album did well. This song is doing well with public, it's doing well on airplay charts and in countries where it's been released (#1 Germany and Netherland) + she's got the hype as well. Also, it's a good song and different from other songs right now. I'd really like her to be #, the song is great and we really need some real good music to be #1. Ithink top 5 is a lock.
December 31, 201014 yr You are all underestimating 'Now Or Never' by Jodie Connor (feat Wiley) which is going to be released on January 10th. I think it will be top 10, maybe top 5. I wont be surprised if she does a 'Good Times' going straight in at number 1. Edited December 31, 201014 yr by Jason
January 1, 201114 yr I'm not sure if Avril will get to #1 her track for Alice In Wonderland was a complete flop, it be more like Kelly Clarkson, 1 week at #1 if she does manage a #1 and a flop year.'Alice' wasn't even a proper single. It was only released to help promote the film, so it didn't matter whether it charted or not. I can seewhy people may think this era may be similar to Kelly's last era, but I think it will be slightly bigger. I think Avril's had some sort of consistency with her fans and the UK public... I dunno. Maybe I'm just wishful thinking, but I'm hoping Avril surprises a few people on here...
January 1, 201114 yr I think people are overestimating Jessie J and the other 'new' British artists - I reckon top 10 maximum - and no-one seems to be mentioning Lady GaGa.
January 1, 201114 yr What's My Name - It depends on its sales this week. I think Matt will probably just hold on because of CD sales. Grenade - I have no doubt this will be a #1 here, there isn't any huge contenders against this (Nero might cause an upset). Rolling In The Deep - This will probably get #1 (fingers crossed), airplay is really good and people are interested in new Adele material after MYFML's success. What The Hell - Haven't heard this yet but would have expected it to be everywhere by now if it is to be a contender. This will probably do about as well as Alice. Coming Home - Don't think this has any chance against the competition that week tbh. We R Who We R - This could do it, I think Adele will nab it though. Blind Faith - Will be top 10 because it is Chase & Status, but it will go to #1. Tonight - This will be top 10, maybe #1. It is catchy although the it will put off a lot of his older fans.
January 1, 201114 yr What The Hell - Haven't heard this yet but would have expected it to be everywhere by now if it is to be a contender. This will probably do about as well as Alice. It can't exactly have been 'everywhere' by now since it only premiered in full last night.
January 2, 201114 yr I wish people would quit referencing "Alice" as a proper release. It wasn't. The only reason it got as high as it did on itunes was for it being such a big profile release movie. -_- Anyways, I agree with Jonjo, I am secretly hoping for a surprise from Avril (saying that I think Adele's new material is FANTASTIC) -_-
January 2, 201114 yr For the record I wasn't saying Alice was a proper release :P I was just saying if someone as big as Avril missed the top 40 with a film soundtrack song that *might* be an indication she's no longer as popular as she once was. I may be proven wrong, I may not be, we'll find out. :P EDIT: I think I must have mentioned this in a different thread anyway. Edited January 2, 201114 yr by ★ 2011 Bray ★
January 2, 201114 yr Martin Solveig Feat. Dragonette - Hello! I WISH :( Top 40 will be lucky. I really think that Clare Maguire will have a #1 album this year. But I'd be surprised if she had a top 10 single.
