Actually, RHCP probably could beat Guetta now you mention it. Bombay Bicycle Club could easily be #3 though.

lol lets get back to topic. who is everything predicting will take #1 this wkd?

Jason Derülo.

As for next week - it's obviously going to be DJ Fresh.

It's more pop-rock. I definitely think she could pull of rock music if she put her mind to it though. Her voice is very versatile, she's done R&B, pop, jazz, soul and a little bit of rock, and sounded vocally amazing throughout. She's quite unique in that sense.

I agree and I'm not a massive beyonce fan. She has the most versatile voice in music along with rihanna imo. Both of those I believe could pretty much do any genre of music they like and pull off a good sounding song that could be successful.

Rihanna's voice is not versatile at all. It sounds terrible on ballads, Unfaithful aside.

Still an example of a good ballad, she's done R&B, electro-pop and even rock (if you want to believe wikipedia's genre definition of california king bed) :P

Really? That's the worst she's ever sounded on a ballad imo. I love the song but I always feel like I'd have loved it even more by somebody with a less irritating voice. This though was when I was of the opinion that she was annoying - that all changed a year later and now I love her

She's far better vocally on the studio versions of her more recent ballads imo, although admittedly she's brilliant doing Unfaithful live these days, she's got so much better over the years.

I think Rihanna does fine on her slow songs. The song that I probably find her voice most annoying on is Rude Boy. Including album tracks, she tends to have some really weird accents on some of them too, but you get used to them after a while.

Also, I'm 99% sure Dr. Dre's album won't be released this month. I'd be interested to know where the person who does the release schedule is getting those release dates from, especially since the album has been "postponed" like 5 times this year now, if you go by the release schedule (although it hasn't been postponed in reality, just no release date announced (apart from that it's supposed to be this year)).

Plus, he's releasing another pre-album single (called The Psycho ft. 50 Cent, I believe), so I doubt the album is coming out before that gets released.

Are people honestly doubting RHCP's to be #1. they're practically guaranteed a week. David Guetta won't come close, he's even beginning to diminish on the singles front, and he's never particularly been an albums artist. :P

He's 'never particularly been an albums artist'? One Love was massive. Okay, he does better on the singles chart, but he's still pretty big albums-wise as of OL.

It wasn't that big was it? It made #2, but I didn't think it hung around too long and the two rerealases did bugger all iirc. Or am I being a flop chart fan again? :(

Its still charting now and has spent 68 weeks in the Top 100 and 20 of those in the Top 20, On the first re-issue its chart run was 66-13-10-12-19....

...the latter then. :(

One Love's sales suck for the size of hits on and the sheer number of no1s. between that and the bajillion singles and lengthy campaign with rereleases its not impressive really. He's not quite "done a Taio" though

RHCP will surely get no1. They are established Rock act, one of the big tourers now and not heading over the hill like bon Jovi quite yet. I'm thinking 6 figures is imminent for a new studio album whether or not they're particularly relevant now.

DeRulo sucks. Not overjoyed with B, but lesser of 2 evils in the singles race. Love to see if Adele can sneak some more weeks at no1 over the summer

3 July

Benjamin Francis Leftwich - Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm

Blondie – Panic Of Girls - This is likely to be the highest debut of the week, but no competition for #1

Dionne Bromfield - Good For The Soul

Emily Osment - Fight Or Flight

Jay Sean - Freeze Time

Selena Gomez & The Scene - When The Sun Goes Down

Starboy Nathan - 3D

July 10

Big Time Rush - Big Time Rush

Her Majesty & The Wolves - 111

Incubus - if Not Now, When

R.E.M. - Life's Rich Pageant - Not actually sure what this is, but the #5 album from March shows these still guys have a fanbase

The Horrors - Skying - Debut album at #37, second album at #25 - I think top 10/20 is possible

Wolf Gang - Suego Faults

July 17

LMFAO - Sorry For Party Rocking - Although this should do well on the back of [PRA], it won't. Much like Pitbull's 'Planet Pit', it's looking at top 20 at best

Natalia Kills - Perfectionist - A lot of hype, but her fanbase will have had this album imported; top 40 potentially

July 24

Dr Dre – Detox - A hopefully big finale for Dr. Dre. It's got the collaborations and prior releases to give it a decent top 5 placing - not sure about #1 though

Mann - Mann's World

July 31

Brother - Famous First Words

Joshua Radin - The Rock & The Tide

Joss Stone - LP1

Fountains Of Wayne - Sky Full Of Holes

Nero - Welcome Reality - Breakthrough artist of the year, I think a top 10 placing is sure; but shock #1 perhaps?

New Boyz - Too Cool To Care

Rhydian - Waves

The Ting Tings – Kunst - If these guys can build up momentum in the next couple of week, this release could do well - but I think at the moment a top 20 placing is optimistic

August 7

Foe - Deep Water Heart Breaker

August 14

Charlie Simpson - Young Pilgrim

Dolly Parton - Better Day

Wretch 32 - Black & White - Dependent on whether 'Don't Go' gives him another top 5 hit, this could do well - I know I'll be getting it

August 21

Hard-Fi - Killer Sounds - This should do well, but if 'Good for Nothing' only managed #51 - is this even going to reach top 5?

Will Young - Echoes

August 28

Bombay Bicycle Club - A Different Kind Of Fix - Debut = #46, Second Album = #8. I think they could get top 5!

David Guetta - Nothing But The Beat - It's David Guetta, it'll get top 5 easily - possibly even #1

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter IV - I'm aware the last release didn't do well, but there's been a lot of hype and new fans

Parade - Parade

Red Hot Chili Peppers - I'm With You - These guys still relevant?

Taio Cruz - Troublemaker - A top 10 placing would be nice at least, but at least two singles need to come before it

I'd say:

3 July

Blondie – Panic Of Girls - Top 10

Dionne Bromfield - Good For The Soul - Top 20? She's getting good airplay, and her debut went top 40.

Emily Osment - Fight Or Flight - total flop :(

Jay Sean - Freeze Time

Selena Gomez & The Scene - When The Sun Goes Down - top 30? Her last two albums managed top 20, even though the second one didn't manage a top 40 single.

Starboy Nathan - 3D - low top 40

July 10

Big Time Rush - Big Time Rush - total flop

Her Majesty & The Wolves - 111 - total flop :(

The Horrors - Skying - Judging by growing hype/fanbase, top 20?

Wolf Gang - Suego Faults - they were relatively big in the US, I imagine since the last album they'd have built up hype a bit. Top 40?

July 17

LMFAO - Sorry For Party Rocking - Top 20, despite a huge single these kind of albums aren't great sellers

Natalia Kills - Perfectionist - Top 40 perhaps, more likely a total flop though :(

July 24

Dr Dre – Detox - Top 5 I should think, after all the delays lots of people are excited!

Mann - Mann's World - it'll do a B.o.B./Iyaz, on a lower scale as neither single has been as big as either NOY or Replay.

July 31

Joss Stone - LP1 - last album missed top 75, but the killing plot thing might scrape it a bit higher

Nero - Welcome Reality - top 5 for sure!

The Ting Tings – Kunst - If these guys can build up momentum in the next couple of week, this release could do well - but I think at the moment a top 20 placing is optimistic

August 14

Charlie Simpson - Young Pilgrim - top 20

Dolly Parton - Better Day - top 40 probably

Wretch 32 - Black & White - Top 10

August 21

Hard-Fi - Killer Sounds - They'll probs do a Kaiser Cheifs, top 20.

Will Young - Echoes

August 28

Bombay Bicycle Club - A Different Kind Of Fix - top 10

David Guetta - Nothing But The Beat - Easily top 3!

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter IV - top 40 for sure, maybe top 20

Parade - Parade - likely won't even be released :(

Red Hot Chili Peppers - top 10, they have a big enough fanbase.

Taio Cruz - Troublemaker - he's deffo more of a singles seller, but just outside the top 10 is certain, maybe just inside on a quiet week.
